Bug - Tools pane always shows when opening PDFs - Acrobat Reader release DC Oct 2023 (23.006.20360)

The new Acrobat Reader release DC Oct 2023 (23.006.20360) does not respect the settings in

Preferences > Documents > Remember current state of Tools pane

Even if the tools menu is closed and then Acrobat is closed then re-opened, the tools menu is still present. Loud and proud like a Moulin Rouge girl cha-cha-ing in a monastry.

Please advise.

Hi There

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the delay.

Please update the application to the recent version 23.08.20555 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

Let us know how it goes.

It's on purpose you do this! Adobe Reader is a worthless program nowadays.

Hi there

What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 24.02.20687 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082 and see if that works.
