I am a new user trying to do something really simple. All I am trying to achieve is to edit a number. Sadly when in the text box and I type a  numerical character this show as someting enirely different. Almost like phonemic script.

I have the same problem, PDF is Arial font but I'm getting ۰۸۹٥۹۸۲٦ instead of 08959826 when trying to edit ?

I've found the solution, go to menu, preferences, language, and untick hindi digits

then you can type numbers again

Hi there

What happens when you try to type the numbers? Do you get any error messages if yes, please share the screenshot of the same for more clarity.

What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 24.01.20643 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

Hi @Steve325173055o4i

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that

Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. If the file is stored on a shared network/drive please download it to your computer locally and then try again.

What is the workflow/steps you are doing? A small video recording of the same would be very helpful

What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 23.06.20320 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Please go to Edit (Win) > Adobe Acrobat (Mac) > Preferences > Page Display > Under, Rendering, select 'Use local fonts' > Click OK and reboot the application and check.

Also, try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082 and check

You may also try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Win or enable the root account in MAC and try using the application there and check.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards

Amal
