Can't Copy + Paste Chinese/Japanese Characters from PDF to Elsewhere Without Getting Strange Symbols

On macOS Mojave V. 10.14.6 and using Acrobat Pro DC V. 2015.007.20033

I have e-mails saved as PDF's that contain Chinese/Japanese characters and I can't copy + paste the text from them into other things such as Google Translate, Word, TextEdit etc without getting funky symbols. I've already tried googling/looking up other posts, pasting in certain ways like pasting special + pasting unformatted + pasting formated + copy with formatting, etc but I still pretty much get the same result. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

    Hi Kristys,

Sorry for the delay in response.

We have tried to replicate the issue on our end. We are able to copy and paste the Chinese text without any issue.

Could you please let us know how exactly you have created the PDF from the email?

Would you mind sharing the PDF with us? We would like to check the PDF on our end.

You can share the file using the steps povided in the following link https://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-7161

Let us know if you need any help.

    Regards,

    Meenakshi

Hi, Meenakshi. I wasn't able to resolve the issue. I ended up not needing help anymore, but the PDF was created by using Mac's Mail App and using File -> Export as PDF for the e-mails. I no longer have the PDFs.
