Question

comments disappear when I create a share link (adobe cloud)

My colleagues and I have had the issue multiple times that we work on a pdf file online in Adobe Cloud, but when we click the share option to create a link to the file, following this then-created link leads to a document with all of our comments deleted. What are we doing wrong here? Thanks!

Hi, I just had a mini heart-attack experiencing the same issue after hours of input through the comments function. When I click the hyperlink icon with the tooltip, "Get a link to this document to share with others" it appears as though the comments are deleted after the document is converted. However, if you go into your documents view, click the ellipses to the right of the document (three vertical dots), and click unshare, your comments will be restored. Not much help for sharing, but gets your work back!

I'm seeing this issue too. It happens on all PDF documents. This is a frustrating bug.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create PDF and make comments

2. Create a link for sharing

3. All comments disappear

Hi @Miranda31552383sewf

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that

Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check.  A small video recording and the PDF file in question would be very helpful to check and test the issue on our end.

What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 23.03.20244 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082
