How to install CC-Acrobat/CC-App on Windows ARM with Snapdragon X-processor (Microsoft Surface Pro)

According to <https://windowsonarm.org/26a238b5-5ea8-41d2-b2a1-b42250aca451> Acrobat runs on Windows ARM with Prism-emulator. Prism-emulator is included in Windows11 24H2 and newer.

Having 2 Microsoft Surface Pro (11. Edition) with Snapdragon X-processor with Windows ARM 24H2.
Download and install Creative Cloud-App. But running CC-App --> CC-App crashes.

In "Creative Cloud.exe" property-window | Compatibility-tab | "Windows on ARM" | "Change emulation settings"-button is greyed out and cannot be activated.

How can I install and run Acrobat? Is there a tutorial available?

Found a solution!

After a lot of trial and error I finally found the right version of Acrobat for my PC. I am running it on a Surface Laptop 8th edition with a Snapdragon X2 Elite, Windows 11 Pro version 26H1. Like many other users running this on ARM Acrobat was having a hard time installing. I tried many steps but ultimately what worked was this installer from an Adobe help page. I downloaded the Acrobat 32-bit version and was able to run it successfully and sign into my account.  All other 32-bit versions I tried or through Creative Cloud had failed previously. Adobe should have had a native ARM version by now but for anyone encountering this issue hopefully it solves it for you as well. It seems like this was a recent release since the page was last updated on September 11th.

Here is the resolution:

Delete all downloaded Adobe

Next, Extract the zip file and then run the AcroPro.msi file from extracted Adobe Acrobat folder. Click on OK > Select "Use trial or subscription version" and click on Install.

Place Https link in a browser to pull zip file:

https://trials.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/APRO/Acrobat_HelpX/win32/Acrobat_DC_Web_WWMUI.zip

Once this installer is finished, place final MSP http link in a browser and download:

https://ardownload3.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/AcrobatDC/2600221920/AcrobatDCUpd2600221920.msp

This should replace the Adobe Acrobat DC with a fresh install of Adobe Acrobat

I also have the same issue.  Windows ARM on Snapdragon(R) X Elite.

Can’t apply the patch, because the full installer fails with This Application cannot be installed on this operating system”  Please fix this asap!

Hello @Christopher271202021z4e

I hope you are doing well, and sorry for the trouble.

Please restart the machine once, and then remove all the downloaded updates. Download the relevant installer from the link, and update the app: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/desktop/troubleshoot/known-fixed-issues.html

I hope this helps, and please reach out if you need any assistance.

Regards,

Anand Sri.

Hi there

Please check the steps shared in the help page Known and fixed issues in Adobe Acrobat on desktop | Adobe Acrobat under the section Acrobat and Reader 32-bit installer and patch fail on Windows ARM devices.
Hope this will help

Like the above mentioned, this is just a patch once it’s installed, but the installer is broken for new installs and the patch would be useless for that purpose.

Thanks for the recommendation, but this doesn’t work for my system. It quickly fails out.

I have also tried the VCC++ redistributable upgrade/verification (didn’t fix it). My company put in a service request with Adobe on Monday, but still waiting on help.

I know you can’t do anything about it, but I wanted to let others know the problem is still not solved for everyone.

The patch on this link did work for me. However, I don’t understand why this is not served through Creative Cloud Desktop? Until they can fix that installer, I would not consider it “fixed”.

Definitely! I had initially started by installing Creative Cloud and after it would fail installing I tried Lightroom Legacy. Because that was also not ARM native and it worked the first try. They need to update Creative Cloud to install this for ARM Windows users automatically. But more importantly they should have an ARM native version by now.

This is no longer working
Windows 11 26H1
Snapdragon X2 Plus
Installer just says “This cannot be installed on your operating system”

Any clues on fixing this would be appreciated.

I am on a Dell Latitude 7455 machine running Windows 11 25H2 OS build 26200.9168 with a 32GB Snapdragon X Elite X1E80100.
When I got a notification that Acrobat failed to install an update, I uninstalled the app to try reinstalling the latest app.
I have tried installing from Creative Cloud app, web browser download, and the 32-bit installers linked in this conversation. These are the error messages I get.

Adobe Acrobat 64-bit isn’t supported on this device. Please check https://www.adobe.com/go/arm-processor-support-windows for more details.
There was a problem when installing Acrobat. Acrobat is not yet available for your device (error code 25) [Here is the Error 25 info page: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/apps/troubleshoot/error-codes-1-99/error25.html]
This application cannot be installed on this operating system. Setup will now terminate. Please refer to the minimum system requirements at http://www.adobe.com/go/acrobat_system_reqs. [Which gives me a “Sorry, we can’t find that page.”]

The installer patch available at https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/desktop/troubleshoot/known-fixed-issues.html did not work for me because Acrobat is no longer installed.

Also, when I try installing from Creative Cloud app, I’m now getting this error:

There was a problem installing Acrobat. Unable to install the product. Click Retry to download and install it again (Error Code 136)

The associated error log is as follows:

Exit Code: 7
Please see specific errors below for troubleshooting. For example,  ERROR: DW003, DW071 ...

-------------------------------------- Summary --------------------------------------

 - 0 fatal error(s), 2 error(s)

----------- Payload: Adobe Acrobat 26.2.21901.0 Adobe Acrobat\Setup.exe_26.002.21901 -----------

ERROR: DW071:

ERROR: DW003: Third party payload installer Adobe Acrobat\Setup.exe failed with exit code: 1603

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I saw where some people have overcome this error code in the past by deleting an Acrobat DC folder from the Program Files or creating a new empty Acrobat DC folder. Neither solution worked for me.

I appear to be having the same issue but using the Acrobat Pro Windows 32-bit offline installer is saying it cannot be installed on this operating system, then refers to a system requirements page (that does not exist). No way to directly upload video, but here are the significant screenshots of the process.

Hi wise_joyf9dd,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry for the trouble caused.

Could you please share more information on what happens? It would be helpful if you can share a short video showing the steps used.

Thanks,

Meenakshi
