latest (12 May 2020) Acrobat DC/multi-page scanning fail/only one page is displayed in Acrobat

I have Acrobat DC Subscription...which recently updated itself to 20.009.20063 Planned update, May 12, 2020

this immediately caused multi-page scanning to fail; initiating scanning from acrobat with selected scanner (fi-6770 fujitsu) worked fine, and all pages were scanned, but Acrobat could only display first (front)page of scanned documents, using the "Show Scanner's User Interface" option.

To check issued, I managed to un-install, and re-install an earlier version (20.006.20034 Planned update, February 11, 2020).

This version works perfectly normally, and after initiating scanning from Acrobat, all pages are (duplex) scanned and then displayed in Acrobat.

In testing, I also found that selecting some of Acrobat's default, pre-defined scan settings (e.g. Autodetect Color Mode, Grayscale Document etc.) also had trouble, especially if I changed any of the options, e.g. front/both pages, page size etc. If I did this, then the Acrobat hung...after the scanner had scanned all the pages, thinking it was still scannning. When it crashed, I had to forcibly kill the app with Windows Task Manager. if i didn't change any of hte default options, then multi-page scanning succeeded.

I've disabled automatic updates until this is fixed.

I literally just bought acrobat and it will only scan one page. I see all the posts here are from 2020 and it is now 2024. Is this problem not solved?

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that

Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. If the file is stored on a shared network/drive please download it to your computer locally and then try again.

What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 23.08.20470 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082

Also check for any pending/missing updates for scanner driver and firmware and try updating it too.

Let us know how it goes.
