Question

Mac Font subfamily not available

Hello,

I am attempting to make a fillable form with the Helvetica Neue light font. When I attempt to change the text field's font, Helvetica Neue light does not appear as an option, despite being in my Mac fonts. All other fonts work fine. When I try to embed the font, it still does not appear for text fields.

I have done the following troubleshoots:
- Add font to My Fonts (Returns that the font is already installed)
- Add font as an individual file into the system fonts. (Does not appear or is removed as a duplicate)
- Embed font (Does not appear)

The question is not whether you have the licence, the question is whether the licence for this font allows it to be incorporated into a document, and therefore whether it is locked against incorporation.

First you must be sure that this font is not protected against embedding in a document (see the EULA).

I am not sure if that is the problem, given normal Helvetica Neue does appear in the font drop down. However, even if I do have a Licence, I still cannot add it to Adobe given the above previous attempts.

Hi @Thomas325417221g4q

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that

Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check.

What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 23.06.20320 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082

You may also try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights or enable the root account in MAC and try using the application there and check.

Let us know how it goes

This is a system-wide issue. I attempted a blank PDF with the same results (to remove any potential issues with embedding).

I did update my version to the one you listed, but not change.

Resetting preferences and a fresh install di not fix the issue

Full admin + root access did not appear to work either.
