OCR Scan on M1 Mac

Hi all,

I tried to do an OCR scan of a large book on my M1 Macbook Pro recently. It was using more and more RAM, and at the end it was using 20 Gb of RAM, even though I allowed Acrobat to 'run native' and disabled page cache. Then I did the same scan on my other Intel-based MacBook Pro and it was constantly using only 300-600 Mb of RAM, with page cache turned on. Does someone have the same problem?

Hi Osorkon

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble.

Have you started experiencing the issue after the recent release 21.11.20039 or have you noticed it earlier as well?

Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082 and see if that helps.

You may also try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights or enable the root account in MAC and try using the application there

Please try to collect the Adobe CC logs https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-log-collector.html and share them with us via document cloud https://helpx.adobe.com/document-cloud/help/sharing-pdfs.html for further investigation.

Also a small video recording of the issue would be very helpful

Regards

Amal
