Please wait while Windows configures Adobe Acrobat DC

Hi all,

Every time I start Acrobat DC on Windows 10, I get this message:

"Please wait while Windows configures Adobe Acrobat DC"

I wait an extra minute or so while it seemingly reinstalls Acrobat DC.

What can I do about it?

Hi All!

Thanks for your time and patience.

The fix is available with the latest update of Acrobat & Reader DC Continuous track: Adobe Acrobat and Reader - 21.007.2009x Optional update.

Please install the latest patch, and let us know if you experience any issues.

Still a problem when trying to generate documents through an application. Any other ideas?

Same issue here.

I noticed this issue would only occure when launching Acrobat from the task bar. I unpinned from task bar and pinned back from application launcher on the Windows button. Now I can open Acrobat from anywhere without getting the installing/configuring prompt.

Hey DM2 -- Your solution worked for me. Thanks for posting!

Unpinning and repinning the taskbar icon is sure better than uninstalling and reinstalling the whole application!

Checking back in with this issue, I uninstalled Acrobat DC from the CC apps panel. I rebooted. Then I reinstalled Acrobat DC from the CC apps panel. The problem went away.

...having the same problem on 21.007020091 as OP. Please post fix. Uninstalling and reinstalling is a last resort.

This happens when I launch the app directly; not when I double-click on a PDF file.

Hi Mike,

Sorry for the trouble caused.

Could you please confirm if the issue occurs when you trying to open any particular file? Or when launching the application directly?

Please share the Acrobat version and OS version on the machine.

Thanks,

Meenakshi
