Question

Remove certificate from signature

I created a signature when trying out the function. Now I have a Self-signed certificate in my Keychain app that Mail.app tries to use when sending e-mails. Causing a warning in the app for those I send e-mails to that the signature cannot be validated.

How can I remove the signature/certificate from Acrobat? Tried doing it in the settings but even if i press "Delete" it does not get deleted.

Hi @sofin81

Hope you are doing well. We apologize for the delay in response.

As explained above, if you are getting the error signature cannot be validated. Then you must try validating the signature first.

Here's a helpful article where you can find the step-by-step solution on how to validate the signature https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/validating-digital-signatures.html

For removing the saved certificates signature, here's a similar discussion where correct answer has been given https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-remove-digital-signature/td-p/11567555

Hope this helps!

Thanks,

Akanchha

Sorry but no it did not help.

The first link you sent is just empty. And the other one has different menus than I have in my Acrobat. There is no way to delete or detach the file and it is interfering with my mail-program as when I send e-mails it says my e-mails are not to be trusted. This needs to be solved.

If it still doesn't let you delete or make changes in Digital Signature. Try removing the application and reinstalling it:

Run this cleaner tool to remove the existing installer and application’s file traces:

https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html

Download the Acrobat installer from here:

https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html

Thanks,
