Question

scrolling one line at a time or not at all

I am using Windows 10 on a Lenovo Thinkpad (resolution 2840x2160). I have problems with scrolling in Acrobat Pro version 2020.012.20048.

I have set the mouse to scroll a certain number of lines per turn, which works in all other program (for example firefox), and the touchpad scrolls smoothly.

However, in Adobe Acrobat Pro, it only scrolls one line at a time, making it impossible to use I have to turn the mouse wheel >20 times/page. Same with touchpad - it needs >20 "strokes". I have played with all settings under edit -> preferences -> page display -> page layout and File -> Properties, and with mouse and system settings without getting anywhere.

Any tips?

Hi Karin

We are sorry for the trouble. As described, the PDF is scrolling one line at a time or not at all and you have tried all settings under edit -> preferences -> page display -> page layout and File -> Properties, and with mouse and system settings with no success.

Is this a behavior with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check.

Please try the steps below and see if that works for you.

  1. Open Acrobat DC
  2. Go to View menu > Page Display > and Select 'Enable scrolling'

If it sttill doesn't work, please try to repair the installation from the help menu and reboot the computer and check again.

If it still doesn't work please reset the preferences to default as described in the help page https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082?page=1

Let us know how it goes

Regards

Amal
