Signature not working on Mac in Adobe Acrobat Pro

The standard insert signature button is not working on Mac OS. The device has the latest updates (Acrobat is also updated). When it is pressed, nothing happens. On Windows, with the same license account, everything works as expected.

Expected behavior: to show a dropdown with signatures and scans of signatures as on Windows, or to show the possibility to add a new signature.

The correct solution appears to be to ensure your subscription to Adobe Acrobat Pro is current then download the newest version of Acrobat Pro. This worked for me on a Mac using OS 12.5.1.

My problem is similar. Today 2025-09-10 Adobe fail to complete signing using latest version of Adobe Acrobat Pro and latest version of Mac OS. I have diligently taken all steps recommended by Adobe and the greater community, however the malfunction persists. Personally, I believe the malfunction is due to glitches  in Adobe software and not attributable to my OS, internet connection or any other third party software. Hence; I am hopeful and looking forward to a software upgrade that remove this highly disturbing issue. Thank you much. DDY.

Hi @Deng Da Yong

Thanks for reaching out. Sorry for the delayed response and troubled experience.
If you are still experiencing this issue, have you tried testing the workflow with a different file? If the issue continues to persist, you may use Acrobat Web: https://adobe.ly/4o0DwNE;

I would appreciate it if you could record a video of your workflow and share it with us. That will help us understand your issue and replicate the scenario on our end.

I created a new e-signature in Adobe, but when I try using it, it does not show up.  Instead, I am offered to "Add signature."  When I try doing it, the screen goes black, and I must press the ESC button for the black overlay to go away.  I just uninstalled ADOBE and installed it again from Creative Cloud, and the problem is still there!

I am using iOS Sonoma 14.6.1 and Adobe Acrobat Pro 2024.004.20219.

HELP!

Following up:

I accidentally uploaded the same file twice in my previous post.  My apologies!  Here is a video showing what I experienced.

Hi there

Please remove the application using the Acrobat cleaner tool https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html , reboot the computer and reinstall the application using the direct link https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html and check.

Hi,
This issue is still persistent. I really do not understand how it is possible that nobody took care of it. And it obviously doesn't happen to me.

Hi @igolubic

We are sorry to hear that. Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check.

Also try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082

You may also try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights or enable the root account in MAC and try using the application there and check.

Hi @Amal. ,

Thanks for your suggestion. It happens with all PDFs, even if I create a new PDF with Adobe Acrobat.

Unfortunately, none of the suggestions work. I have tried to add a signature through Preferences, but still, when I click the Sign icon or "Fill and sign..." nothing happens. I have tried removing Adobe Acrobat, but still no changes.
