I work at school and have created a form. My pdf file needs to be signed with Timp Stamp and no one else be able to edit the file. How can I deploy these two features?

Hi Dayrak23124147fhi1,

As ls_rbls mentioned, you may use Acrobat Sign to send the document to others for signature.

When you send the document for signature using Acrobat sign, the recipient gets the link in the email that will open the document. Recipients don't need to have any application or subscription.

For more information on how it works, you may refer to the steps suggested on the following help page: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/send-for-signature.html

Another way is to add the digital signature field in the PDF. You can do that using the Prepare Form tool in Acrobat.

In Acrobat, go to Tools > Prepare form. You may go through the following help document for more details on preparing the form: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/create-form.html

Hope the information helps.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Thank you try67 and Meenakshi.

The document needs to be signed by another person.

How can I create a digital signature box to be assured that is going to be digitally signed so the document is going to be locked?

The best method for this type of workflow is to employ Adobe Sign.

Otherwise, as per the guidance already provided to you here, you will need to instruct every signer to use Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (full desktop version for PDF viewing amd editing - requires paid subscription), or Adobe Acrobat Reader (free PDF viewer).

The only downfall with this guidance is that in order for every user to sign with a time stamp they need to become familiarized with how to create and customize a  digital signature appearance at signing time.

See in this discussion how is done:

As you can see, it is a lot of steps.

I am not sure if you've ever tried to explain computer terms and procedures  to someone who has never used or care to use Adobe Acrobat over the phone, or email or a public Internet forum but is a PITA!

And let's not even discuss about the users who will be trying to sign your PDF using macPreview from an Apple device or macOS... even worst, users that have different versions of Adobe Acrobat Pro and Reader (some legacy versions don't have the Modern Look user interface to employ a digital signature certificate... they just have the Classic user interface - as shown in the outdated guides).

If you're OK with doing that with every  user who will sign your  PDF, then by all means go ahead; the answer has been already provided to you.

But in any case, Your best bet is to use Adobe Sign which allows your users to sign from any desktop computer, mobile device (phone or tablet) using a web browser  ot using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

They don't need to be computer savvy nor Adobe Acrobat savvy.

In addition, when you employ Adobe Sign in this workflow, your users are not required to purchase Adobe Acrobat Pro's subscription.

So you must evaluate too what is more convenient in terms of time and effort.

A digital signature does both things.
