Trying to edit a scanned pdf on my windows laptop

Hi, I paid for Adobe Acrobat Pro and I am trying to edit a document i scanned to my computer. 

I keep getting the message "More tool components are being installed. We'll let you know when you can use the tool." Well, it's been hours and I cannot figure out how to do two small edits in this pdf. How come it isn't working? Do you have a solution?

It should just work. Have you tried to restart your computer or to re-install Adobe Acrobat?

Yes I tried that and it didn’t work.
