Unexpected error PDFmaker from Powerpoint + Path always on

Hello,

when using PDFmaker thru context Windows menu to make PDF of Powerpoint file, it is ALWAYS asking me for path where to save it. I have turned off this option in MS Powerpoint -> Acrobat -> Preferences but it always keeps popping up. Rebooting etc, checked, after 2 days of using either Word or Powerpoint at the end of a day conversion to PDF out of Right mouse click will enforce me to show path and name (keeping in mind the last one, can be in totally different place now).
I am more than irritated by this situation at the moment, what is not getting better after 30-40% of my PDFmaker uses end up on Unexpected error, when suddenly Powerpoint file is opened, but no pdf is created.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Mateusz

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that. As described, when using PDF maker through context Windows menu to make PDF of Powerpoint file, it is always asking for path where to save it.

- Have you started experiencing this issue after the recent release?

- What is the version of the Adobe Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 21.11.20039 installed. Go to help > check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only)  and reboot the computer again.

Also try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082

You may also try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Windows or enable the root account in MAC and try using the application there and check.

Hi Amal,

thanks for your answer.

@9231142 questions:

I haven't been using previous versions, so cannot compare newest release with the past.

My version seems to be the newest, I have installed Adobe recently, updater says there are no newer ones.

I tried also using Adobe Distiller to somehow verify what means Unexpected error. The answer from log says nothing to me.

%%[ Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: ĐĎࡱá ]%%
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%

Yes, distiller also understands that all preferences were turned off, but keeps asking for path and opens the file although it's unchecked. It's not English language version, so I'll post just a small part.

Tried restarting preferences and unchecking boxes, but only restarting works since both PDFmaker and Distiller do whatever they want and use options from Default setting.

Yes, I've used repair my installation already. No changes observed.

I have to say, that I was sure Adobe is not a fresh Startup company with full beta phase which drops random errors. PDF maker from Windows menu did not work at all during 1st week trial, but now after it's paid it works like beta software for me. Not like it's setup in preferences and not like expected, but in 50% it works at all.
