Weird lines created within the ruler when moving mouse over document

Hello All,

Couple days ago, my Acrobat Pro started creating weird lines withing the ruler when I move the mouse over the document. The more I move over the document, the more lines, until they completely saturate the ruler beyond recognition. I uninstall Acrobat Pro through the Creative Cloud Desktop and reinstalled; and it was working fine for a couple documents but has now returned. I do not have grid lines enabled, any ideas…?

I have included 3 pictures…

First picture is when I open the document, everything is normal.

Second picture, just a quick movement of the mouse over the document, weird lines are starting to appear on the ruler.

Third picture, continuing to move the mouse over the document (no clicking, just scrolling) and it completely saturates the ruler beyond recognition.

I have also closed out of Acrobat, shutdown the computer and restarted, same result.

Thanks for any help.

When basic functionality suffers from new feature updates, it’s an issue of priorities.
Who cares about a new feature, if the core functionality doesn’t work.
I want to Open, View, Evaluate, and Close, (Quickly). There are too many functions running that keep this from happening, and the ruler issue is only one of the core issues related to the recent updates. Is the QC department checking basic functionality, or just the new attributes of the patch?
This application cost way too much to have to deal with this.

Why is this update not showing on the Creative Cloud?

Thank you so much! This did the trick for me and can confirm I don’t see tick marks anymore on my ruler! Thank you again.

Mine won’t update, gets an error 1603, which Adobe does know but is a very old code.
Nothing current about this error code. How do I get past this error. It would even run the installer if I download the new 64 bit installer. Just blinks and says OK to quit the installer.

P.S. My home computer did update and that fixed the issue there.

I’m tired of Adobe not fixing this issue!  How hard can it be?  Maybe we can all get a partial refund for all the months we couldn’t use this feature!

They sure are dragging their feet on this one. You would think it would be easy to at least replicate it?

Tomorrow it will be 3 weeks and no fix and no work-a-round. So how soon now? Have you even replicated it?
All our users in Prepress where I work have this same issue, all different machines, ASUS, HP, Dell, Laptops, Desktops and a few VM’s as well.
I’ve worked in software development, and I feel this is being handled poorly.
Is Adobe trying to copy Microsoft with buggy updates?😖

I am having the same issue. I don’t have rulers on when opening; I toggle them on/off as needed. But when I do try to use them, they become unreadable and useless as I move the mouse.

I did try moving the mouse slowly, got a solid bar almost all the way across the screen. So that was fun.😔

This issue is annoying and have turned off ruler until it is fixed. I am also getting page jumping when editing a PDF. This didn’t happen before either.
