Hi i wanted to know if we can edit the glyphs and characters of a font? For example: Can i take the A of minion pro and edit its anchor points?thanks
I think this question fits best here, since it's an all-app wide issue, related to how variable fonts are handled.Having created some variable font experiments, I was glad so far all of them have been fully usable in the compatible Adobe apps. But with my latest creation I have ran into an issue: The variable axis of the typeface remains static, even when changing the value. When manually overriding the styles it also remains static in the first style. The font is fully functional though, since all popular testers (Axis-praxis, and more recently Fontdrop) and my own webtester work perfectly, making the axis functional and the styles manually selectable. And I haven't found anything out of place in the fontfile itself compared to other variable experiments that do work.I have tested multiple CC versions and on different machines with various OS's. But the issue persists.Any idea's what could cause this issue?I added screengrabs of the issue, hope this helps!
Hi all, I'm new to opentype font designing and i need some feedback on the feature code i wrote.i can't seem to find the right forum to ask this.any suggestions?thanks.
Are there a license available for Myriad Pro that allows embedding and distribution of the font in an app?If yes, how much does it cost? Thanks in advance.
Does anyone know what are the differences, if any, between the Roman version of Minion Pro and Minion 3?
Looking for licensing options for using Myriad Pro font in our windows based product application. Please note these devices will not be connected to internet.
Can anyone help and please forgive me if this is basic to a lot of people but I'm painstakingly trying to create a 3d serif typeface that is too fine to work effectively using the 3D bevel and extrude option. I need the offset type to appear as flat white (diagram 2) but in 3D so there are no gaps between the serif of the serif in white and the serif in black (diagram 1). I have so many different versions to do for a client and am hoping there is an easy less painstaking way of doing this without it being so ridiculously time consuming. I just can't get a good effect from the 3D effect version of creating it. Please help! Thanks so much x
I keep getting fractions showing instead of real type in safari and in my emails. I deleted all of the "Fraction" fonts and it is still happening.
I own Adobe Font Folio 7. How do I upgrade to the newest version 11.1? I should not have to pay for the entire library again.
I bought this font recently from Adobe. The text is top-justified in a text box (in my CAD program and in Pages on a Mac). I need it to be center-justified vertically.I'm using a MacBook Pro with OS 10.8.5. Any tips or suggestions? Thank you,Doug
Since upgrading to the new CC, my system fonts are not showing up, specifically Gotham HTF. I use this across multiple projects and need this font to be available in CC as it's already been approved by my client.
Since upgrading to CC I am unable to work without wanting to tear my hair out and cry.I am having problems with fonts (surprise, surprise!). Im opening old files and there are problems with missing fonts - but they are system fonts, so in my Suitcase application they are activated. They are working and viewing fine when I revert back to CS6, but super probs in CC.Does anyone have a fix, I am getting so frustrated......?
I've searched through all the glyph palettes and have not been able to find a glyph for the "oo" with a diacritical marker (macron) over it. All the single vowels have this glyph, but I've not found one for this particular combination. It's an Open Type font purchased from Adobe in the late 1990's. I know it's possible to make it manually but I would prefer to have it as a glyph if possible, for better consistency.
Started up cloud this morning and type font Arial missing from entire suite of programs. Only Arial MT and Arial bold remain. All other variants gone. Illustrator documents advised missing font. This is a job completed only the day before. Logged into Adobe Type kit and also no sign of Arial. Only other people to touch my computer was IT doing an update on Microsoft Outlook.Anyone got any help suggestions, I'm in a pickle with heaps of documents using that font.RegardsCarl Rainer

Between Apple and Adobe they compose 99.9% of my software and also 99% of my income. As a freelancer starting out I would like some simple clarification from an administrator, Adobe representative, or anyone who has talked with them regarding font usage rights.I don't undestand why anyone would ever purchase fonts for personal use, but that is NOT what I am doing. I use them to create logos and print documents for CLIENTS. These documents are not created for 'fun.' Although sometimes they end up being fun Can I use fonts provided by Adobe either purchased or that come with their software to:1) Create a logo, brocheure, or business card for a client that will be used commercially?2) Alter the type (kerning, serifs) for designing a logo, brocheure, or business card for a client that will be used commercially?3) Do I have to read each EULA for the fonts Adobe provided with it's software or is the EULA for all fonts installed on the software applicable?4)
Hi,I have found that Trajan Pro works perfectly as a font for a product line that I am designing the packaging for for a client,What sort of licenses do they need to acquire to use this font on their product packaging? It is perfect.thank you
If I use Typekit fonts to create a website for a customer in Adobe Muse, and I then cancel my CC subscription (let’s say, because I am retiring), what happens to the website of my customer. Will the fonts still show up?
Hallo Zusammen!
I create PRINT materials (textbooks mainly) using InDesign CC on a Mac. However, in the future, we are going to convert these Indesign PRINT files for use in DIGITAL products. The people in charge of the digital side, want us to use the same font for both. We currently use HelvNeueCond which does not have a Web version of their font. So, we are looking at changing everything. I assume if we purchase licenses for both the Web and Desktop version of the font (Nimbus Sans Cond), we would be set. My question is this: When switching between ONLINE and PRINT, do I have to literally do a search in Indesign and replace all WEB fonts to OPENTYPE fonts (or vice versa depending on whether going from Print to Digital or Digital to Print)? This seems like such a simple situation, but can't find a definitive answer. Before the company purchases these fonts and changes their branding look with a new font, I would just like to know what our workflow will have to be.
I have fonts installed in my system - Mac OS 10.12.6 - that are available in all applications, including Photoshop Elements 12. But, they are not available in the Fonts menu of Photoshop CC 2018. I have reset PS preferences as advised in another post, but that did nothing. Can you please tell me why some fonts don't show up in CC 2018?
Excerpt from PDF Specification document:When the font has no Encoding entry, or the font descriptor’s Symbolic flag is set (in which case the Encoding entry is ignored), this shall occur: • If the font contains a (3, 0) subtable, the range of character codes shall be one of these: 0x0000 0x00FF, 0xF000 -0xF0FF, 0xF100 -0xF1FF, or 0xF200 -0xF2FF. Depending on the range of codes, each byte from the string shall be prepended with the high byte of the range, to form a two-bytecharacter, which shall be used to select the associated glyph description from the subtable. • Otherwise, if the font contains a (1, 0) subtable, single bytes from the string shall be used to lookup the associated glyph descriptions from the subtable.Above description does not clarify if a symbol font with (3,0) subtable can have multiple character code ranges. say 0x0000 -> 0x00FF and 0xF000 -> 0xF0FF. Are multiple code ranges allowed ?If yes, how would a font rendering application know which code range to choos
I have an ai file that uses the font "MyriadPro-Light" and when I open the file I get the above font problem message. I bought the full version of CS6 web and design so I am surprised that I don't have this font. I have looked through my font files and I do have one called "MyriadPro-lt.otf". I am wondering if I am getting this problem because the font filenames are slightly different (i.e., "Light" versus "lt")? Part 2 of my question would be...if this is the reason for the problem, how do I fix it?
