    That user was indeed a scammer. He's now been banned from the community. Check out the instructions John provided regarding how to avoid phishing/scams on the community.

    Adobe impostors are fairly common around here unfortunately.  They use this forum's private messaging system to target users of discontinued software.  Do not provide them with any information.
