Cannot SAVE Profile Name Change (or upload profile pic)

I have been on support chat all morning and have been sent around many times. The support team keeps telling me my name is correct, etc. They don't seem to be able to distinguish between account name and profile name. When they can, they send me to a link to Profile change. It's pretty straight forward: click on change button. Change. Save.

but.....

I cannot save.

Message comes up as red box with warning sign saying: cannot save, try again.

Can someone help me?

Mac. Mojave. I have Adobe cc-all products.

    Hi Jenna,

    Can you show a screen shot of the warning box? Be sure to Redact personal info.

    The profile name you use here on the forums is not the same as your Adobe ID.

    Just to clarify, why do you want to change  your forum screen name?

    The one you have right now seems fine. 

    All profile pictures and avatars must be approved by Adobe Staff and that can take up to 48 hours.

    what name are you trying to use?  (hint: some are illegal)

    those are legit but they’re probably taken.  use something that’s likely unique.
