Question

Don't E-mail me about things I do myself on the forum

This is a great forum, and I've gotten great support, but it has one really annoying feature/bug.

I have my Profile set to notify my when someone responds to a thread I'm participating in, or when someone marks a thread reply as a correct answer.

Seems basic and pretty standard for most forums.

If "I" reply to a thread or mark an answer as correct, in two or three minutes, I'll get an E-mail:

"Marshall_Brooks" replied to this thread or "Marshall_Brooks" selected a correct answer.

I think I'm aware of that already.

Is there some way to avoid this?

I rely on these forums for support. It got so disappointing thinking "Look, somebody already answered me." and then looking at the E-mail and just "Oh, it's just telling me I replied ..."

I turned off all email notifications years ago and never looked back. The forum activity was just cluttering up my inbox.

To see replies to posts I participate in, I go to my Notifications Panel (bell icon) or my Profile Page (avatar).

Hope that helps.

Actually, the forum works well for me other than this minor annoyance. I don't get inbox clutter. In this case, I would have had to check the notifications panel for two weeks to know that someone replied.

like a lot of forum issues, it's not a major issue.  but it's still annoying.
