Question

First time this has happened to me

Last night I was kicked out immediately after posting a message (that was lucky!). When I tried to log in, I received the standard error message stating that the requested page was temporarily not available. I thought the forums were down, but they weren't. I could go anywhere I wanted within them, and do everything an unregistered user can do, but the login page was still unavailable when I went to bed.

I don't recall have seen this reported, so I wonder if this has only happened this time, and to me.

    Claudio,

About the same time/date, similar happened to me. I'd been gone for a week, and had to log-in. No surprise. Posted to one thread, and bam, when I was returned to the main forum page, it was "Unauthorized." OK, navigate to where I needed to be. Could not do it. I could do other things, but posting was not one of them. Noticed that I could report abuse, and started to have some fun, but decided against it. I exited completely and started a new session. I was logged-in, but still could not post. Went off to do other things on other fora and came back about 2 hours later. All was right with the Adobe fora.

What happened? Who knows. Will it happen again? Yes, probably. Can I live with it? Probably, but it bothers me too.

    Good luck,

    Hunt

it looked like the login server was down for some reason. i was able to read and post for some time after this was initially reported (elsewhere). then after i had been logged out, i was able to read, but not to post as i was taken to the maintainence page when i tried to log back in.

Correct. In my case I tried periodically to sign  starting a at 5:31PM EST (GMT-05).

If that is correct the problem started at 2:31PM PST (GMT-08?) At 2:31PM in Local Time for Adobe. That would not be a Typical time for system maintenance. You do systems maintenance after everyone goes home or goes to bed in the local area.

It went out at about 5:30 and was out when I went to bed which wasbout 12:45am.

And it affected not only the sign in for Forums but anywhere you need to sign in on the adobe site.

It appears it was a major melt down of the sign in server.

    Hi all

I was AFK for most of that time. But around midnight (here in the midwest in the US) I noted that I was unable to log in.

Unlike PJ, I simply assumed that Adobe were performing some sort of behind the scenes maintenance. I'm not sure about elsewhere in the world, but here in the US, it's common for IT staff to work odd hours performing upgrades or other maintenance during off peak times so as not to negatively impact things in busier times. I just figured that was why we were unable to log in.

    Cheers... Rick

I posted because, first, I didn't realize the login process was not part of the forums or the site. And second, because if a several hours outage in such a vital part of the sites was scheduled, it should have been announced. At least, in my opinion.
