Forum Hits the Wall

Well, about 4:15PM AZT (PDT now), the forum has hit the performance wall.

Pages take about 10 mins. to load, and many of the editing features just will not work. Scheduled maintenance?

Glad that I got most of my work done earlier.

Hunt

I fear that we may be witnessing the beginning of a new severe slowdown. Everything is much slower thann usual using Firefox/Mac, and I have twice been unable to enter the forums using Safari/Vista. Let's hope that I am wrong and these are just temporary glitches.

    September 24, 2009

Seems to have gone away, I was having some weirdness/slowness issues as well but I think I passed them off as "normal behavior". (sad)

Well, it does seem to have gone back to normal now.

This happens when you buy Jack Daniels Whiskey instead of paying the server lease bill.

The cause of the failure is immaterial. A simple "We are experiencing slowdowns and trust to correct them soon" would have shown that users are worthy of some consideration. I wonder where all those that are so quick on the trigger when they feel the petal of a rose touching their skins have been all these 19 hours. They should have noticed the slowdown, and should have noticed this thread by now if they were away and weren't affected by the slowdown.

I still fail to see any comment on the slowdown by any host/moderator/Adobe employee. Is it going to be completely ignored? Almost unbelievable.

They want to treat us like mushrooms (keep us in the dark).

It show arrogance, they do not wish to admit something went wrong. Could have been a problem with the communication network. equipment failure, cut cables, But they don't wish admit anything.

Should have been printed at the top of page Similar to this :

WE ARE EXPERIENCE NETWORK DIFFICULTIES AND DO NOT KNOW EXACTLY WHEN WILL BE CORRECTED.

WE ARE WORKING WITH DUE DILIGENCE TO CORRECT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

Yep Just return to normal for now. My last post was through email of the email notification. That seemed to work regardless.

I wonder if anyone else has noticed that this slowness is also affecting hosts/mods/Adobe personnel? It's now 12 hours since Hunt reported the problem, and I have seen no comment from any of them. Curious.

And now it took me five minutes to get back to the Forum Comments main page. Also, no way to access the forums in Safari/Vista; I get a "Server not responding" message.

Can these Jive-assed forums get any worse?

    Yes! Every single day!

    Attn Adobe:

Web Crossing worked fine. Jive Clearview does not.

Forums are as slow as I have ever seen since I've been on Forums I can't even get in using SeaMonkey clicking on links in email notices. The Browser Times out Even with notice asking whther I typed link correctly.

The only reason I got in now, is I used Camino and went to Forums through adobes main site. Even then I have to wait 5 minutes before anything happens.

It looks like a Server has blown up or someone has cut some communication lines.

They need to get rid of those Windows Server 2003  machines ASAP.

    September 23, 2009

I believe they have a or Jive has a server that has gone south or that

someone has cut some phone lines (Pots, FIOS, whatever) somewhere and

its killed the browser section. Now email seems the only way to get in.

    PJ,

I am not on email, am using the web browser and I am still able to get in.  It's slower than molasses in a Montana winter though ...

WOW!  Someone must have flipped a switch, as it's running much faster now.
