Question

How do I disable the default setting of "Use the selected program to open this type of file"?

My desktop computer is running Windows 10 and has been used for almost 12 years. Since support for it will end this year, I'm being asked to get a new computer running Windows 11. I'll get the new computer next October anyway.

I accidentally deleted the AdobeFnt_PseudoFonts..lst file, and it's now opening with Notepad...

How can I restore the AdobeFnt_PseudoFonts.lst file to its default state?

Can anyone help me? I want to restore it to the application selection mode, openwith.exe.

I deleted Notepad.exe from the registry editor under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts.lst\OpenWithList.

Anyway, I wasn't too affected.

I tried many methods, and almost caused a blue screen during the process.

Is the file in the Recycle Bin?

    If so, restore it.

@Peru Bob yes I opened it with Notepad and then ran openmwith.exe, so it hasn't affected usage much yet. It's just that seeing the system settings become such a mess is very unpleasant, so I've been trying to figure out how to fix it. But I don't know how, otherwise my computer will break down again, so I gave up. My desktop computer is running Windows 10, and I've been using it for almost 12 years. This year they announced the end of support for Windows 10, and I was planning to wait until next October to get a Windows 11 computer.

    I'm so frustrated.

@kglad I opened it with Notepad, so it hasn't really affected the usage yet. It's just that seeing the system settings become unclean and abnormal makes me feel very uncomfortable, which is why I've been trying to find a way to fix it. I don't know how to fix it, otherwise the computer will have problems again, so I gave up. Anyway, my desktop computer is running Windows 10, which I've used for almost 12 years.
