How do I edit my community profile name?

I am trying to change my name from this randomized username to something customized but I don’t see an option in My Profile settings to change it. I can change my profile icon but that’s it. Where do I go to change my profile name? I also tried changing it on my main Adobe account profile settings for the “Adobe screen name” which doesn’t appear to be connected to this community site.

Hello,

I initially had what sounds like exactly the same problem, but eventually the discrepancy resolved itself. In my case, it took approximately 1-2 hours for the profile at community.adobe.com to sync with the screen name change I made at account.adobe.com.

I did notice a strange behavior where the Adobe account's screen name field was initially blank, so I filled it in with the member name I wanted. When I checked back later, the name I entered was gone and had been replaced with the name from the Community site. I then changed the screen name a second time, after which the Community profile eventually updated as expected.

That said, it definitely sounds like something different may be happening in your case since it has been over six days. Have you tried updating the screen name multiple times at account.adobe.com/profile to see whether it triggers a sync?

Hi,

Yes, it’s actually been 9 days since I changed both my main Adobe account profile to add a “Adobe screen name” and the custom.nickname field on my community forum profile and both have the name I previously set, it was not reset as blank at any point.

I did what you suggested and went and changed the two namespots, put my name back in two more times, waited two hours and they still haven’t affected my username as you can see:

I think if it was just a matter of delayed synchronization, we would have seen my profiles synchronize similar to yours by now.

It would be helpful if Adobe staff related to the forum dev team would comment on this! lol

use a mobile phone’s update (non-opera) browser with wifi disabled to make the change.

Yep I tried that too (I had to put “sunhawk-new” because I have another Adobe account (long story) and it uses the forum name “sunhawk” and also won’t let me change it to “sunhawk-old” or similar.
