How to get better in the print world (Graphic Design general question.)

Question

I wasn't really sure where to post this so; I decided the general section would be nice.

Here's the thing: I know how to use Photshop, Illustrator, Flash, and Indesign (and other adobe programs) HOWEVER what I don't know or am never really sure on is Print.

I always see a job every now and then that requires you to be print ready or have print experience.

All I know about printing is bleed (usually for business cards) and that CMYK is for printing.

So my question is: What can I do to be professional in printing? Mostly everything I do is for the web.
