Little things annoy me

b Points

I don't like is this concept of "points". I really don't like the competitive energy of those points. I've been to non-business forums where people award each other "karma." It's stupid and can be petty when someone has more karma than others.

I have no idea who gives points to others, but I don't like them.

I wouldn't mind a record of when joined or how many posts, but I think that belongs in a profile, not next to the responses.

b Answering posts

Who marks a message as answered? As mentioned before, the OP could state the post is answered, but others could find a problem.

Will there be a way for the Forum Moderator to amend an answered post as "With Note"?

b Sorting the messages

Will there be a way to sort according to the OP? If not, it seems a waste of a column.

I'm sure I will have other issues that I'll add later.

    dave,
    >will the new forum allow sigs?

My understanding is that the answer to your question, mercifully, is a resounding no .

I am merely pointing out to Curt that his framework and viewpoint seem remarkably blinkered if he believes that a rather tacky unsophisticated Web Site is indicative of current levels of taste and sophistication as demonstrated in the excellent examples of fine Design that can be experienced all around the Globe.

Perhaps a little travel and mind-expansion would help?

Curt... you don't post in the forums Ann reads, so she has no idea who you are or the hours you've put in providing advice, or the programs you use

Since you therefore don't use the same "expensive and sophisticated applications" you clearly don't have an opinion that counts... at least not to Ann

Of course, her opinion might not count for much in the Premiere forum

The forum change IS going to happen... we will all see then if the number of posts drops off or stays the same, or increases over time

Until then, we can provide comments about what IS, or continue to talk about what some would wish to happen

    >many people believe that an updated forum such as the one proposed will attract many more people >

But only those that share your mind-set and background, and not necessarily the ones who use Adobe's more expensive and sophisticated applications; nor the International customers whose culture is widely different from yours.

On the other hand, many people believe that an updated forum such as the one proposed will attract many more people ergo provide a better service to the community.

You will only get the "most accurate answer possible" if the people who are capable of providing those answers can stomach a visit to the ghastly New Forums where all efficiency and functionality has been submerged, and destroyed, under an avalanche of meaningless juvenile junk.

The very things that you consider to be merely "nit-piking stuff " (such as avatars and points), make the New Forums slow, tortuous, unproductive time-wasters for many of us.

I still think most here are nit-piking about stuff that should matter. Whether you like avatars, points, even Names, etc, is not the important point. The important point is to give the most accurate answer possible.

I also agree with Sandee on all points.

    >There is nothing "elitist" or "upper crust snob" about this just an attempt to prevent the spread of sloppy/stupid/ignorant practices among Users of these Applications.

    exactly.
