Misterious scroll bar

In the messages from one participant, I am getting a misterious horizontal scroll bar as seen here:

More curiously, I see the bar in Vista/Explorer 7, but not in Mac/Firefox 2. The poster affirms not to be doing anything special, and says he is using Firefox on Vista. Anyone else? Any ideas?

    You are getting the scroll bar because there is an invalid image link in the post that FF just ignores but IE 7 does not.

    If you look at the post in html mode you will find this invalid image link:

    <p><img id="kosa-target-image" src="#" style="position: absolute; visibility: hidden; z-index: 2147483647; left: 1133px; top: -11px;" /></p></body>

    Curt, I seem to have lost the buttons to choose text or html view, but your explanation sounds very good. I checked the image Bar2 that I posted before giving me also a scroll bar, and it is indeed too wide. I am testing now with a 450 px wide version of the same:

    Addition 1: No scroll bar now; it seems you are right.

    Addition 2: After posting, I am been taken back to the OP and not to my just posted message; a most inconvenient step backwards.

    Addiition 3: the software is eliminating the blank lines after full stops in my messages.

    Claudio, only hosts can look at others posts in edit mode. It is very likely in the source code, so you could probably see it there.

    Just taken screenshot, just to show I'm not imagining things. And fully scrolled to the far right, two show that there is nothing there to justify the scroll bar.
