Can someone explain to me why so many useful and BRAND NEW threads on here keep getting shut down before anyone can respond or actually give good advice. Continually shutting down forum threads that simply do not please the powers that be needs to stop NOW.

    i’ve never seen any useful thread posted in the correct forum locked before there are replies.  and i’ve never seen any new post locked without replies.

    There are certainly some issues with the new forums that are reported and being worked on between Adobe and their suppliers. When we see them we raise them, hence my request for examples.
    Kglad has listed above some common reasons for thread locking but I had not seen examples of threads temporarily locking, then unlocking, that you have mentioned above. I will ask if this is a known issue.

    Threads don’t normally lock on being ‘answered’ or with an answer marked as best answer, unless there is a flood of unrelated responses shortly afterwards e.g. spam posts.

    In the old forum volunteer moderators could move a message to the correct forum… in this forum only employee moderators may do that, and there are few of them to do those corrections

    @jackthegiantkiller

    most threads are locked (esp in this forum) because the post is in the wrong forum and the op is directed to re-post in the correct forum. (eg,

    and

    )

    the thread is locked to prevent and off-forum conversations .

    locks also occur where posters state the same issue os the op AND the thread is old. eg, (

    )

    in addition, the recent poster posted a duplicate message (which is another reason for locking)

    @jackthegiantkiller Do you have an example? If so, please link to it so we can take a look.

    😑...the good old throw your hands up and say “Whaaaaaat, a thread got LOCKED...WHERE? Not hard to find: pick any thread that gets quickly and inexplicably marked solved by an impatient or dismissive moderator then locks the thread for everyone except the original poster.
