Agreed. If Mo Díaz wishes to comment, or if there is more stuff to say about spam, the appropriate topic should be used or created.

At this point, this thread should be returned to the original subject at hand, "nicknames broken".

    Thanks.

Poor Mo Díaz hijacked a thread that has nothing to do with his/her comment to make a first post ever on these forums. Hardly a credible credential to criticize anything.

Actually, the current "forum system" has been very successfully time-tested. Granted, it's not perfect. On the other hand, other formats have been tried and they quickly fell by the wayside. Other systems are less intuitive, harder to read, and often not robust enough for the content, traffic, and inner workings of what we have before us now.

Unless a system is researched, custom crafted, and tested that significantly surpasses the current way of doing things, it just ain't gonna make it. Trust me on this -- Adobe has tried.

And Vbulletin is ugly, run-of-the-mill, space-wasting kiddie stuff. The stupid avatars clinch it.

    > "I'm not sure whey they use this forum system at all"

It's a decision that's not yours to know about. Nor for anyone else to know, for that matter.

Get used to it, or don't. Nobody else cares whether you like it or not.

Sorry, but that's the hard truth.

    Hi David.

Is this for the Macromedia Forums?

    Try this...
    Go to http://www.adobe.com
Click on Your Account at the top of the page
Log in with your Adobe ID and password
Click on Edit Your Account Information
Scroll down to the "SCREEN NAME" field and enter your name in there
Click on Update at the bottom of the page

    Let us know that works.

    Thanks!

Fine, I have to do due diligence to make you laugh on occasion, don't I? ;-)

As Big a Corp as Adobe is I doubt many of the low ranking workers even know who the president of Adobe-Macromedia is. :-)
