Forum users should not be allowed to participate under more than one user ID. This would help prevent forum abuse for the purpose of personal amusement and raise the substantive quality of input for everyone.

I think Im going to be sorry I did that. I held on for years letting Adobe have that ID and change it into an email...Oh well. No changing it back now.

    > Well try it and see!

I did and retained the registrations. I shouldn't have any more trouble when registering now...Unless I lose my email.

and finally, this is NOT something end users should have to "fiddle" with with out clear and explicit direction from adobe. it looks bad. real bad.

the problem here is we're being forced to mess with something that's tied to our, let's call them actual assets, our registrations, proof to adobe that we own what we say we own. IT SHOULD NOT BE THIS HARD, IT SHOULD NOT REQUIRE US TO RISK LOSING ACCESS TO OUR REGISTRATIONS!

    >When I wrote one name, one ID, I meant one person, one Adobe ID.

There is no way to do that when people have multiple e-mail accounts and multiple ISP accounts as well.

When I wrote one name, one ID, I meant one person, one Adobe ID.

When I register my software with Adobe, I am issued a serial number, and how I am able to use that software is limited by that serial number and the computer on which the software is used.

When I login into my bank or financial account, I can login from more than one email address or ISP, but it is certain that it is the same person logging into the same account each time, because it always occurs from the same computer.

Adobe has changed things in the user account. You did not used to be able to change the screen name. Now you can. I think they did that specifically because there were too many people who were having issues of screen name with the new forums.

As I said: try it and see what happens because Adobe may have changed its behaviour since i tried doing that.

Mine was a slightly different scenario because I was trying to UPDATE my e-mail address.
