If you do go to the Hardware forum that Hunt linked, please provide more information about your needs when you ask a question

Photo or Video editing... or ???

    Hi John,

I'm wanting to use the machine /software for Photoshop, Indesign and Illistrator in the main.

This is for creating and images and documents, nothing that performance hungry (or at least that's what I assumed)

I have it running on a PC, I5, 4 GB Ram, 3.1 GHz Processor running Windows 7 32bit. It is at times unusable and driving me round the bend....

With a 32bit computer and Windows 7 32bit (with the max 4gig of ram) you SHOULD be OK... as long as you have your computer "tuned" so you don't have too many automatic process running in the background... see below

    >at times unusable

If you are having specific problems with a program, you should ask for advice in the specific forum http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-1015

    Welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately, this one is to discuss, well, the forums, themselves.

I would start with this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/947698?tstart=0

Then, after reading over it, would post questions to the Adobe Hardware Forum: http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere/hardware_forum?view=discussions

Pay close attention to Replies from Harm Millaard and Eric & Scott from ADK. They know their stuff.

    Good luck,

    Hunt
