Placement of Spry vertical menu makes page content move off layout

Online or in live view this problem can not be seen, but when viewed in Dreamweaver CS4 design view, (see attached .jpg) you can see the problem  clearly. Is this the way CS4 work with a vertical spry menu or can i make the menu sit back on the side bar as one would expect it to. Thx
