...and I wish someone would clarify for once if such problems should be reported using the Report Abuse button or the Report Spam thread as JC has asked (see message from Community Expert in the same link Kath gave).

If you mean, keep both the button and the thread, JC has asked not to use the button but the thread, and has explained why. Or are you thinking of asking/forcing people to use both?


My point is that, if one is much more useful than the other for people managing the forums, we shouldn't be receiving contradictory instructions as to which one to use. Ideally, the other would then be eliminated, but that would be asking for too much in the present state of affairs, where no appreciable changes are seen in everyday usage.
