saving and doubling lines in code

Hello, every time i save my work in dreamweaver i notice that the line in my code double and sometimes tripple... i.e. befor i save it i will have 256 lines of code and after i save it i will have 800 plus and it breaks up all my lines of code.... how do i fix this??
