search by app not whole forum

Finding the search functionality pretty poor on these new forums, I'm viewing the lightroom classic page and unless I specify lightroom classic in the search question I get results from every adobe app section listed . Finding much hard to ascertain as to whether the issue I have is a current new bug or an issue that someone solved  years ago. It seems to like throwing up 8 year old threads that are all locked . Is it possible to just search the say the lightroom classic section?  (Windows 11 opera browser)

@Gixxxa75 I'm viewing the lightroom classic page and unless I specify lightroom classic in the search question I get results from every adobe app section listed .

Hmm, that’s not been my experience.  When I enter a query in the Lightroom Classic forum search box, even though it says “Search all communities”:

the returned search results are restricted to the Lightroom Classic forum.  E.g. searching for “image size” returns this:

and at least the first several dozen posts are from the LR Classic forum. And the right column listing all the communities shows only Lightroom Classic is selected:

If you’re seeing something else, it would be good to understand, so the more active community members can help others use the forums more effectively.  Perhaps post a full-resolution screenshot of the entire browser window showing the results of a search?

All this being said, I fully agree with the others that the “new” platform’s search is abysmal. I often use this Google search query, which I’ve bookmarked:

    lightroom classic site:community.adobe.com

adding more search terms as needed.  Unfortunately, neither the platform’s search nor Google are adequate for searching a large forum like Lightroom Classic. In particular, Google doesn’t completely index all the forum posts, there’s a delay before Google indexes the most recent posts, and you can’t restrict by user or time range or sort by time.   The platform’s notion of “relevance” often top-ranks posts from ten years ago (and sometimes, I only want to see older posts).

@johnrellis Yes it does seem much better now with filter option on the search results, I might be a complete idiot but don't remember seeing that functionality when I started the thread.

When you click Create a Post from Lightroom Classic forum, the platform searches your question against Lightroom Classic posts only.

    Hope that helps.

Google:  Community Adobe Lightroom Classic “your topic here”

Like others already said, the forum search function is next to useless. You’ll get much better results using Google with a pattern like “Adobe Lightroom Classic forum your-search-term”. It’s possible that better patterns for this purpose exist as well.

The forum search is terrible. I use Google search.
