Security threat-urgent help needed

Hi Before i logged into the adobe website today someone elses email address was saved into it and I dont know who it is and I am sort of worried at why it saved someone elses email address when no else uses my computer.

    could just be your browser retaining "form" information. i had a similar issue at one time logging into facebook from IE. i usually never use ie so never noticed it. but when i typed the 1st letter of my log in into the facebook login, a strange email addy popped up (auto form fill).

    the "long story short" form is: it turns out that i had let my friend's daughter use my laptop when they were staying over that night. after about a day of searching and asking around, i realized that was her email addy and IE "thoughtfully" saved it internally. i think there's a setting in ie's privacy tab to clear it. and other browsers do similar when saving form data.

    could that be it?

    It could be that but I remember the exact same thing happening back when this version of the forums were new. Happened to me as a matter of fact. On my work computer that no-one (including IT) has any access to.

    I wish my brain was good enough to remember the outcome of that or how it was solved. I "think" it eventually cleared up on it's own.

    There are 2 possibilities here, this can be a security in:

    - your computer / browser;

    - the adobe.com login system.

    In either case this is not the proper place for this discussion.

    1. This is a security issue on your computer / browser. Since neither

    your computer nor your browser is a product made by Adobe, these forums

    are not the place to discuss that. Try the forums of your computer or

    browser vendor.

    2. This is a security issue on the adobe.com login system. Prudence

    dictates not discussing such issues in a public place where the bad guys

    can read along until all other avenues for discussion have been

    exhausted. The proper place to initiate a discussion about a security

    issues on the Adobe website (or any other Adobe product or service) is

    Since you are not including any details about which pages you visited

    and which email addresses showed up, which browser and OS you are using

    etc. it is impossible for us to determine which of the two is the case.

    So my best suggestion is to collect all that information and try again

    at one of the mentioned places.

    First you need to clear your browser cache so that you can be sure there is nothing on your system.  Second, you need to scan your system for potential trojans or key-loggers to be sure there is nothing that is compromising your system.

    It is unlikely there is anything on adobe servers because of the way these forums operate.

    Have you got latest anti-spyware and anti-virus software with definition updates?  If not I suggest look into this first.  There are many free ones that do a good job to protect your system.

    Hi Aaron.

    Can you give more description and/or steps to recreate?

    Did you go to www.adobe.com, click on something that requires you to sign in and the sign in page already had an email address in the Adobe ID field? Or something else?

    What anti-virus and network security do you use?

    Have you gone to Norton online to run a security scan?
