Forget it buddy in a 1000 years from now the earth will be long dead and gone. Might be in another 100.

If you belive the Myan Calendar it will be toast around Christmas time two years from now.  I don't but people that do they will be jumping off bridges and high rises in Nov of 2012 so they waon't have to go through it.

Don't blame me for not having anything to contribute. I'm spending all of my time trying to log in and just waited through my entire break for the posting screen to come up so I could post this.

Tha's enough for one day thank you very much,

    Ken

The delays are worse than terrible right now.

The current bottleneck appears to be all the initial stuff that gets pulled in from Adobe.com.  No, I haven't tried to copy WHICH items are troublesome.

Curious. Today it's taking me about 4 seconds to change from one forum to another using my bookmarks. This is about half the time of my shortest download times since the implementation of these new forums.

Good grief, folks.  Will someone please fix this unresponsive mess?

This is STILL the slowest site I frequent.

Fast forward to Nov. 15, '09. It's back to a snail's pace once more.

Right now, it's taking 3-5 mins. to just get the reply editing screen up, and 2-4 mins. to post that reply, if it will even do it. Ctrl+C is the keystroke of the night, and then Cancel out twice, and try again.

At least I get to spend time watching the Colts!

All other sites are flying tonight, but Adobe has slowed to less than a crawl - maybe a crawl over broken glass, or something.

I feel a server crash coming on. Gotta' post tonight, or the next day will be lost.

    Again: we need details.

    It's rarely slow for everybody.

We need to know which files, from which server are taking too much time.

And we need to be pretty sure that it's not just a problem with your local subnet.

The problem is the same when using the webservicess. The webservices use only the central servers as Jive, none of the Adobe servers or the CDN servers. And I doubt his subnet extends to the Netherlands.

You can easily replicate the current problem by visiting http://forums.adobe.com/community/ and looking how long it takes to get the first byte. Since you are looking at the first byte you are effectively exclusing bandwidth issues and all the issues that may arise from slow image/css servers. If the time to first byte for that request is more then 12 seconds, the Jive servers have a problem.

Update Nov. 17: after the maintenance on 2009-11-17 04:00 UTC these instructions for measuring the forums performance are no longer valid.

I'l just add my tuppence worth to say that I wait ages for forum pages and javascript to load. Often the page not found nonsense appears. I find it embarrassing and disappointing that a giant software house like Adobe, who manufacture web design applications, doesn't seem to have a state of the art slick forum.  Often I just give up and come back later.

Otherwise, keep up the good work.

It is extremely slow today, which is odd since so many people have left.

    November 11, 2009

Maybe there is a automated web crawler sniffing around the forums slowing things up.

I am experiencing enormous variations in connection times right now, including timeouts and impossibilities to connect with the site.

The speed just can't make its mind up. Maybe a nice clean shave, hair cut and a new suit will make the forums feel better about itself and be more productive speedwise.
