The thread with this name that was closed with no explanation did serve a useful purpose, so I am opening a new one to replace it.

Speed is back to normal now, and if there was a shutdown, I wasn't here to witness it.

    Good grief! I'm getting really annoyed seeing "Contacting www.adobeforums.com" when trying to go to a U2U forum. The responsiveness is terrible.

    Well, it's not browser-related. Almost identical problems with Safari 3.x.

    see that? a double post. it's like stuff goes through, but the page isn't updating. i hit stop in the browser immediately after hitting post, because it looked like nothing had gone, added my browser info and hit post again. wa-laaa. double post. :)
