Syntax highlighting in basic editor

First of all. Thanks for finally upgrading the forum software. So far it looks like it works much better than the former version. However I'm not totally happy with the basic text editor.

There is quite a lot of code posted in these forums. Is it possible to have the syntax highlighting button in the basic editor?

It helps a lot on readability, and when this button is hidden away in the advanced editor I'm afraid that a lot of users will not find it.

Syntax highlighting of scripts/code has never worked right in this forum platform (Khoros). It's something to do with conflicting styles that supersede syntax highlighting styles on publish.

In any case, I use JS Fiddle or CodePen embeds with an <iframe>. See example below.

Syntax highlighting on Khoros is not a simple fix. Each request we've made has been shut down. Too much pain for too little gain.

For us, users, it makes absolutely no difference what platform it all works on, but for now it looks like the Adobe who make first-class software cannot or do not want to do what is offered today by any more or less normal forum.
