Why do I receive posts for the discussion topic ’Shockwave for Windows 7’ to my email address when I did not even create it or reply to it?

I went into the discussion and clicked 'Stop email notifications to my email' but why did I receive messages about this discussion in the first place?

Shouldn't all 'discussion groups' have the default  'Start email notifications' as the link?

I created a 'related 'Shockwave' discussion group but I solved my inquiry and clicked 'Stop email notifications'  and I stopped receiving emails about it.

    Did you select to receive email notifications at a higher level, such as at the forum level? Does the forum overview page at http://forums.adobe.com/community/webplayers/webplayers_shockwave give you a link to subscribe to notifications or to unsubscribe from notifications?
