A lot of people will just cease to contribute to the Forums if you adopt that route.

The use of that turgid format is probably exactly why the Lab and Macromedia Forums are seeing such reduced participation.

You find out everyone does not like things the MM way so you go away for 6 mo or so, come back and try the same thing a different way but it is still the same thing....MM forums. The people who frequent the Adobe forums and have for a very long time do not want that. Hello....

exactly. how many new programs did they get with the merger. 10-ish? less? create 10 new forums and be done with it.

put up a note on all the MM forum pages that in X number of days on so and so date the MM forums will go away. they need to use the adobe forums for the product of their choice. they then need to create adobeforum ids just like the rest of us did.

The problem I see with this is that the Adobe forum way of doing things has been much much better than the MM forum way of doing things. Every time you migrate you use the MM model and usernames etc. It is very annoying. Many of us have been with the Adobe forums for a very long time. Create a DW forum with the same structure and you won't get any argument. How hard is it to just add new forums to Adobe forums?

I have been using DW forums for a long time too and I just don't like the way it is set up. I would rather have the separation than to have Adobe forums like the MM forums.

Duh! Haven't they figured out that many users just don't come back after experiencing the all too frequent slowdowns?

and that the search function here has been less than optimal? It's easier to use Google to find things here than on the internal search engine. Once Google points them in other directions, folks often just give up on the forums.

Dorothy's point is also valid: the "suite" thing, even though I've never bought a suite myself.
