Why is it no longer possible to start a discussion via email

Why is it no longer possible to start a forum discussion via email.

It used to be that each email notification from the Forums came with a "start a new discussion" link which opened in the default email client.

Now that link is to the web only. It doesn't seem possible to start a discussion via email.

Am I missing something? What does Adobe gain by forcing users to the clunky web interface?
