Question

Will these discussions live?

This subforum was created as part of the preparations for the forum changes.

However, I believe they contain valuable contributions, including observations, suggestions, and considerations.

Will they still be here after the change, or will they be lost?

John C is an Adobe Employee and has been pulling the strings all these years, working with the developers of the WebX software to get it set up and tweaked to our liking. The servers are hosted by the WebX group, primarily so their pro's are available 24/7 to keep an eye on them and give them a kick-start as needed.

When Macromedia became part of Adobe, a lot more players became involved in the forums and it's more of a group effort now then just John's show. But it is Adobe employees that call the shots rather then the software hosting company... but, they are all working together on it.

Pj, your remarks should have been made in a new thread; they are not a polite or welcome intrussion in the thread Jacob started.

Jacob, I retake your question after this harsh and unnecessary interruption.

My understanding is that everything that has been posted in the trial forums will be deleted later today. This particular discussion is not in any trialforum but housed in a normal adobeforums.com thread, and should therefore survive the change.

We were always warned that posts in the trial forums would eventually disappear.

I always thought they owned the server, and and provided the space like all other major computer companies, I assumed the Maintenance of the Software and groups was up to outside people (the users of the groups), and the company washed their hands of any involvement.

I thought that adobe buying the software and forcing it down our throats, meant they were taking over everything so that they could control everything even possible censoring opinions that don't necessarily put Adobe in a good light. In other words stifling free thought.

    > But since adobe is taking over

What does that mean? Adobe is not taking over ... they have always run the place.

    I hope so.

But since adobe is taking over I wouldn't be surprised if they banned such groups. Would want the washed or unwashed masses telling them what to do.
