I have been generating videos using Veo 3.1 and Veo 3.1 Fast for the past week, and there have been multiple times where I’ve encountered the “Something Went Wrong” screen, and so many of my credits have ended up being consumed despite no generation of the video. This credit deduction system really needs a fix, you guys should deduct it only AFTER a generated video has played. Not cool at all, feels like being robbed.
I looked into this, and the error is happening because the keyframe you’re using includes a minor. Firefly won’t process any generation that involves minors, even if the image isn’t sexual or inappropriate, as this goes against Adobe Generative AI User Guidelines.
When it come to credits consumption, here’s what actually happens: credits are deducted when you hit Generate, but if the generation fails due to an error, those credits are automatically returned to your balance.
To double‑check this, I ran the same model, prompt, and character setup and captured my credit balance before generating, during the loading phase, and after the error. The credits were restored each time.
Before generating - 6478 credits leftDuring the loading phase - 6078 credits left (400 deducted)After the error - 6478 credits left (400 credits restored)
If you’re still certain that credits were permanently deducted on your side, please share the date when those generations were made. I can escalate this to the team to verify your credit usage.
Extremely frustrated and disappointed with my subscription of firefly. Takes away my credit without allowing me to generate images. What sort of cheating business is this? I want a refund of Rs five hundred and twenty. First time I am cheated from a video generating company.
I only use image features, but regularly it doesn’t work and credits are taken and not refunded. I haven’t used it enough that I ran out of credits, but I have been using image creation for work a lot and I’m worried I will run out when its not even working. I was not checking the credit balance regularly before, but now checking with these errors and they are never returned.
Hi dani_ji, Sorry about your experience. We’ve escalated the issue affecting the Veo 3.1 model to our product team. Regarding credits, they are consumed as soon as you click Generate, but if the generation fails, the credits should return to your balance. I was able to restore mine right after the error, though in some cases the refund may take a few minutes. If you still didn’t receive your credits back after reloading the page, please take a screenshot of the full browser window, preferably with the error showing, and tell us what resolution, aspect ratio and duration you were using.
Thanks for your response, and sorry for my delay getting back to you. The credits have never refunded for me, unfortunately, and for months I thought that that’s just how it goes! I didn’t even know credits could get refunded. In my case, though, once they’re deducted they’re gone, and if the video fails for whatever reason that’s that. Here’s a screenshot from the very last one, which basically drained the entire credits. I had multiple failures before this too, and each time the credits were never refunded. I don’t know if you are able to check the system and see which prompts actually generated and then compare that to the number of credits consumed?
@Hajar Toutsi Thanks for shedding some light on why the generation won’t work - though curiously a couple of other clips did end up generating using the same keyframe! As for the credits from failed attemps, they have definitely not refunded - I had multiple failed ones on 28 & 29 January. It would be great if the team can cross-check that 🙏
