Lasso tool is completly broken.

It starts to activate only after I move cursor few pixels which makes it not precise.

also when you try to move selected pixels just a little it jumps back to original position

Can you please fix that adobe? I would like to have my basic tool working to do my job.

Hey, @sbn85. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I’ll help you figure this out. Please share the system info from Photoshop Help > System Info. Copy & paste into a text document, then upload & attach here.

In this case, you can start by resetting the Lasso tool. Right-click the Tool icon in the Toolbar menu, then select Reset Tool.

Please make sure there are no stale preferences in your Photoshop. Go to the location of the preference folder below and rename it to backup.

    • Windows 10/11: Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop [version]/Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings

    • You can press Press the Windows key > Enter 'Run' > Enter %APPDATA%\Adobe

    • Rename the Adobe Photoshop folder by adding a .old at the end. (Adobe Photoshop 2026 > Rename > Adobe Photoshop 2026. old), You can restore these preferences later if needed.(https://adobe.ly/4860qM9)

    • Restart the computer.

These changes will provide a fresh start to Photoshop, much like a new installation.

Let me know how it goes.

    Thanks!

update on this, just wanted to test something,

this looks like it has somethign to do with windows INK,

I unistalled wacom cintiq tablet, installed Huion Kamvas tablet, and then I set up PSUserconfig.txt

and did not notice any problem with lasso anymore,

the reason I change tablet is because when I set up this PSUserconfig file on Wacom Cintiq then I got wobbly lines for each stroke when drawing lines (wacom driver was up to date)

    so to sum up

    • no problem when you disable windows ink
    • but on wacom tablet when you disable windows ink you get wobbly lines (thought cintiq is supported better?)
