InDesign Publish Online: Page Limits, Document Complexity, and Traffic Considerations

I am evaluating Adobe InDesign Publish Online as a platform for the annual publication of an interactive public-facing report that will be embedded within a client’s website.

The publication is expected to be approximately 80 pages long and will include numerous images, navigation buttons, and interactive elements throughout the document.

Before adopting the platform as a long-term solution, I would appreciate some technical information:

  1. Are there any recommended limits regarding the number of pages in a Publish Online publication?
  2. Are there any limits related to the overall size or complexity of the document (animations, buttons, interactive elements, etc.)?
  3. Are there any limits on traffic, bandwidth, or the number of views for a single publication?
  4. Does Adobe provide any guarantees regarding service continuity and the long-term availability of published URLs?
  5. What best practices does Adobe recommend for large-scale publications intended for a broad audience?

Thank you

You might consider using in5, an InDesign plugin (at extra cost):

An Online Publish file cannot be embedded on a client’s website. An iframe of the file can be created and resides on website, but the source file still resides on Adobe servers.

Hi @margheritades-P,

Thanks for your detailed question. While the Publish Online FAQ covers many aspects of the service, I wanted to verify the latest information around page count, document complexity, traffic considerations, and long-term availability with the product team before providing further guidance.

I'm checking internally and will update this thread as soon as I have more information.

Thanks for your patience.

Abhishek

The one you might want to focus on is number 4 because there are no guarantees.
