Hello,Am using RH10. I wanted to check if there is any way to make the TOC pane in the Webhelp collapsible/expandable? In the Webhelp output that I generate, the TOC pane is static, we can only resize the width. However, is there any option to collpase/minimize the TOC pane? And then expand it when needed. Many thanks....

I am using RoboHelp 2015. I am looking for a script that can change the topic status from "In Progress" to "Ready for Review" if a change was made to the topic. My thinking is to turn Track Changes on when I edit the topic then the script could search for rh-track_start. Someone may have done this already or know of a better way to do it. I am not a programmer but am willing to learn if someone can point me in the right direction.

Hi all:I am an experienced (but not expert) RH user and am converting a merged webhelp project to HTML5. It is written in RH11 and compiled locally. The problems occur when it is called from the product:Stack Overflow at line xx. THis error is displayed randomly when clicking on books or pages in the TOC. THe line number varies. The message is displayed inconsistently: it does not always occur when I click on the same book or page.Script error. The URL in the message is the location of the help files on the product server. THis message also varies - two examples are attached.Does anybody have any ideas about the cause of these errors? The developers and I are baffled. This is the first time we have used HTML5 for documentation so we might be overlooking a simple problem.Thanks in advance for any help.Juliette Curtis

I'm using RoboHelp 11.0.4.291  and have a project open on a Windows 10 computer. This is the first time I've opened the project on Windows 10 and right now I'm not able to work on the project for 2 reasons.1) Double clicking on Topics will does not open the Design/HTML editor.  Right clicking and selecting edit topic also does nothing.  However, if I click Preview topic I can view it.  This doesn't allow me to edit topics at all though.  1) The style and formatting pod is greyed out in the View >> Pods menu so I can't open it.  The project is not read only so I'm not sure what the probelm is.Help would be much appreciated.  Thanks!

I am using RH12 (RoboHelp 2015). My project was translated into Portuguese-Brazil, Spanish-Spain, and French-Canada. In Project Manager, when I edit the index file (right-click the index file and then click Edit) the Index pod looks like this:When I view the index file (right-click the index file and then click View), Notepad looks like this:​The English version of the HHK file will populate the Index pod in the localized project. I suspect the problem lies with the special characters in the localized HHK file. Strange though that the localized HHC file works. Any help is appreciated.

Using RH 15....When using multiple languages, our filenames are in Englishwith a language code appended (ie: What’s New?_en-US, What’s New?_pt-BR, What’sNew?_es-419). I have run into an issue when using the Search tab, the Topics toDisplay pane displays the file name (English) and not the topic name which isin the correct language. Is there a way to have RH use the topic name insteadof the file name when displaying the Search tab results? The correct topic inthe correct language does come up in the display window. It just uses thefilename which is in English to select from and not useful to the customer whodoes not speak English. I need a way to easily identify the topics with thesame information in them but different languages as the topics need updating... and I am not bi-lingual….Suggestions?

After running a security scan of the product, the application developers reported DOM cross-scripting errors resulting from the online help. Hello! I am assigning new .CHM files to existing merged projects. You may recognize this picture:When I go to assign a (in my case) an existing merged project a new .CHM file, I am presented with this dialog. However, I do not want the .CHM file to be copied in, I want it to reference a .CHM file. This is because I am working on a help project that compiles many other help projects that get changed separately from time to time. This leaves the compilation project out of date if the .CHM files are simply copied in; they're just older copies.Is there a way to have a merged project point to a .CHM file rather than copy it in so that it reflects outside changes made to the .CHM file?Thanks!

I checked the RH 2015 online Help but didn't see the confirmation that I was looking for about User Defined Variables (UDV).What I wanted to confirm is that the SystemName_Cardiac_Monitoring_System UDV and its value displaying in bold below means that it is a different value than in the default UDVS. I think that's what it means because I created a second User Defined Variable set and set the UDV named "SystemName_Cardiac_Monitoring_System" to "Xcelera" in the "Demo" UDVS (User Defined Variable Set) whereas the value in the "default" UDVS is "Phillips." Can anyone confirm that's why the value is bold?

RH2015 | WebHelp | WebHelp ProI have several modified files that I apply to my WebHelp outputs after I compile. I use these to customise the look and feel. However, when I apply these files to a WebHelp Pro output and publish to RoboServer, the modifications are not applied. The output looks fine when I run it locally, but not when I view the project from the server.Why is RoboServer ignoring these updated files? Is there a way around this?Any advice would be much appreciated.ThanksJonathan

HiI am facing somewhat strange issue (not sure if this is a known bug) with indentation.I imported FrameMaker 11 document into RoboHelp using the settings ISF file. In RoboHelp, I want 2nd line of a list item (say bulleted list) to start from the point where the first letter of the first line starts. Normally, I do it using hanging indents. However, I am not able to get this here. I am generating WebHelp output.Here are screenshots of different paragraph settings and their WebHelp output as viewed in FireFox:1.  The output of zero indentation is correct.   2. Then, I changed the hanging identation to 0.25 in to check the output. I noticed that the 2nd line is starting slightly after the 1st word of 1st line. So, I reduced the hanging indentation in my next attempt. 3.  Here, I reduced the indentation to 0.2in. Now, instead of reducing the space before 2nd line, I noticed that the space between the bullet and 1st letter of 1st line has changed.Where am I going wrong? Plea

HiI am using RH11.0.4 and publishing my course for mobile using PhoneGap Build. This is a mobile-only course. So I am not too bothered about how it behaves on desktop.Though I have a Welcome page, I want my users to start with ToC. So, I set the Output Folder and Start Page settings to table_of_contents.htm instead of the default index.html. Since PhoneGapBuild won't publish the android app without index,html, I copied that file from older published version of the same course and published the app.However, when I load it on my mobile, it still starts with the Welcome page and not ToC. Please suggest a workaround.Sreekanth

We're having a few issues with our video content in Robohelp. (RH2015, videos were created in Cap 8, publishing to HTML5 output). The videos were created and imported by a coworker, and are intended to be viewed via drop-down text.1. Chrome will not display the video itself in the drop-down, only the link to open it in a new tab. 2. IE WILL display the video in drop-down, BUT all the player controls are invisible. They're there and they function, because if you hover over where they should be a screen tip will appear and tell you what you're hovering over, and if you click it will pause/play/whatever. Why can't we see the actual icons?3. If you click the X on the player to close the video in the drop-down, it closes the help entirely. It does not do this if you're viewing the video in a new tab.Clearly the issue is with displaying videos as drop-down items. So, any hints or solutions would be appreciated, or at least any explanations as to why these things happen so I can rationalize i

I have a project that I've been working on since last Friday, June 17, 2016. Just yesterday afternoon, I couldn't close the file at the end of day. I finally had to use Task Manager to End Task for the RoboHelp project. This morning when I opened my project my work seemed to be gone, but was there and I had to import the "ghost" files back into the project. Some work was missing, however. I did receive an error message when I opened the file about the .cpd file being deleted or damaged and that I would have to import the tasks that appeared to be misisng.Today, the project won't close again. I've searched the Forum for a solution and haven't found an answer. Can someone help?Thank,MDawn

Pourquoi ce message s'affiche s'il n'y a pas eu de modifications à l'entête/Pied de page?Merci!

This might be more of an iOS question than a RoboHelp question, but I'll ask once, anyway. A developer on my team redeployed Multiscreen HTML help output for an in-house app, but I keep seeing the old help output when I try to view it on my own iPad. I tried clearing history and website data in the Safari settings on my iPad and I uninstalled and reinstalled the app that launches the help output. I still see the old iPad help files, but the developer sees the new ones on his iPhone. I will peruse the web to find out if there's anything else I should do with my iPad settings. Thanks.

In my help output, I can see the glossary hotspots expanded by default when I initially open topics. How can I generate help so that they are collapsed? I want people to have to click on the glossary hotspot link in order to show the definition. I think the topic looks cluttered and confusing when the definition is displayed in the middle of a sentence. Thanks.

I have several files under File Status tab that have the status:  Doesn't exist.ADV.ppfpblsvrs.sssXML Output.sslADV = the name of my help project.  I output to CHM.  RH10What are these files and now can I fix, delete or remove from the File Status tab?

Hi everyone,I'm using Robohelp 2015 and have been compiling a project as Responsive HTML5.  It has been working great until today.  For some reason Robohelp decided to make my life miserable by not including the Azure_Blue css.It used to look like this...But now it looks like this...Any idea how to fix this and why Robohelp decided to do this?  Keep in mind that I haven't touched a thing in regards to css.Thank you.

Hello, is there a way to display the total number of pages in the footer of a generated Word document (page x of y)? I discovered the variable "page-number" that can be used in master pages, but is there something similar to "last-page-number"?
