I added a few new topics to my file and saved. I went back in it today and all my old topics now say they have 0 links and have a red x thru them. How do I get my information back?

Are there any plans to add a 'Mark of the web' option for Responsible HTML5? Without it, end users using Microsoft Internet Explorer must set a security option to 'Allow active content to run on My Computer.' I know alternatives are to use Chrome or host the Help system (or ask end user to set up a web server in which to host the Help system), but neither of these workarounds are options at the present time. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I have successfully customized the TOC Page icons in previous versions, but in RH10, the option seems to be missing. Following past method as well as advice from Help & Forums, I right-click the page in TOC pod, choose Properties, Advanced tab, but once there all I see are Frame and Comment options. There is no option to change the icon from Auto to another style from a drop-down list (as I was expecting to see under Advanced). My OS is Windows 7 Enterprise, 64-bit. Just as an aside, I have used this feature in the past to indicate a topic that has new content or for topics of a different nature.

I am using RoboHelp 2015 and generating a Responsive HTML5 project using the Azure_Blue layout and am trying to modify the format of the title so that one word is using Superscript font. I know that you're not supposed to do any inline editing and that everything should be controlled by a CSS, but which style in which CSS? How do I apply different styles to different words? Assume author 1 and author 2 are working on the same RH project using version control ("Collaborate" tab).Author 1 is editing topic A. Author 2 is editing topic B.Both topics already exist in the help project and are published online.Now, author 1 has finished updating topic A and wants to publish the new version.Unfortunately, author 2 is not done with updating topic B yet. Therefore, his changes on topic B should not be included in the output.--> The newly published version of the help project should include:- Updated topic A- Old topic BWhat would be the easiest way to achieve that in RH 2015?

I produce our companies online help (for school administration software) using a Responsive HTML5 layout.I have been asked to investigate a password protected section of our online help for specific a specific subset of support documents.I am aiming towards an entire TOC Book and its nested Topics as being password protected.Is this possible, I have had a scour of roboHelp's Online help and any reference to a password is generally regarding version control and publishing?

Hello,I'm trying to use the RoboHelp help to find out how to use Screen Capture. The help refers to the Insert ScreenCapture button in the Object toolbar in the Design Editor. For the life of me, I can find the Design Editor, but no Object toolbar. Can someone direct me to that toolbar? I have a feeling I'm going to feel really dumb when I hear the explanation of this one! 😉    The issue that caused me to search for this, is I was taking a screen capture of a screen in our software application I'm documenting. It's a table, basically, with an icon in the first column of every row. When I copied and pasted the screen into RoboHelp, it worked great.The second page of the screen, I don't get the icon image. Instead, the shows. Can anyone tell me why I'm getting this instead of the image? What can I do to get the image? Why would it work the first time, but not the second?Thanks for your help,MDawn

We have the same set of drop-downs in many of our topic headers. They function as designed when you first access the help system. They stop functioning when you navigate to a different topic. The cursor still changes to the pointed finger when it hovers over the drop-down, but clicking it does nothing.Also, how do I access the drop-down list?RH2015 12.0.1.338

Another strange problem: I generated multiscreen help and put it on two servers. First server is just a storage spot for backups, and 2nd server is the one with the actual software. While the output is generated to be multiscreen, I used only the desktop layout, because we currently support the product only on desktop machines, so we don't need help for phones or tablets. The file folder structure and file names on both servers are exactly the same - I checked to see if something was missing, and everything is there on both servers.When I open the help on either server, using Firefox, IE, or Chrome, it works perfectly.When the developer opens the help on either server it works perfectly IF he uses Firefox. But if he opens the help on either server using IE, there is no scroll bar on the right side of the help interface, and the scrolling wheel on his mouse is disabled. His mouse works in every other situation with any other software. He tried a different mouse anyway just in case, and

Periodically, something within Robohelp appears to get corrupt with a project. When that happens, the project compiles without any problems until you click Publish. At that point, a Webhelp dialog displays, saying "Publishing has been cancelled. Access is denied." The only thing I've found that fixes the problem is totally trashing the project and starting over. I move the existing project out of its original folder, then import the .hhc file into a new project. It retains the settings and the formatting, and publishes with no problem. Is this the ONLY solution? Does anyone know how to fix the problem AND keep the project? I'm asking because I have over 20 projects, and they ALL went corrupt today. Usually this problem only affects one project at a time. But today I'm facing an afternoon of recreating them all...

The Framemaker import fails to produce valid file names in my project. Independent of the setting unter Tools > Options > "Use underscores in filenames", RoboHelp always produces filenames that include quotation marks and Umlauts. French accents also turn up in the file names. As a result, the webhelp output cannot be viewed on the server. Manually editing all topic file names is inacceptable due to the mass and would be the end of the single-source work flow. Is there a way to force RH to generate valid file names without special characters? It seems absolutely necessary that such a function is present because the titles of imported documents are likeley to contain special characters, such as accents, quotes etc. which must not be used in the generated file names. BTW, at the same time it would be desireable to get topic titles without underscores because this is what the user sees when he uses the search function of the help.

I know how to use the expressions and tags for dynamic content filtering, but I cannot figure out how to get the Filter button added to my project's window pane. Can anyone provide some assistance? I thought it would be listed somewhere in the Output Setup - Windows - Properties, but I cannot find any Filter button option.Help!

RH 2015. All updates installed.Due to the nature of the product, the Help includes many very long tables. When you Create a PDF for Review, the tables look worse than they do in the online Help. Table headers don't continue to the next 'page' and the last row of a table on a PDF page ends up with no border.Is there any way in RoboHelp to force table headers to continue to the next "page" (as they do in Word), or is this unreasonable because online Help doesn't distinguish "pages"?Do any of you know of any ways to edit tables in the PDF? I've researched this and mostly seen comments that you can't do it, that's not what PDF was designed to do.Thank you.Carol

Actually we are creating an eBook 3. The source is done manually in Word. In the manual are many tables included (e.g. safety instructions). Is  there a possibility to avoid arbitrary line brakes. Is it possible to keep the cells locked together?The second question regards behaviour of links to documents (e.g. PDF files). Is it even possible in eBook?

Does anyone know what viewer WebHelp is displayed in when displayed from an applicaiton via a call to RH_ShowHelp?  We're using RoboHelp ver7.  Is it IE? or the MFC CHTMLView Class?We've had an annoying bug for a number of years and are wondering if changing the viewer would help.  In the Index pane, if you type in the beginning of an index topic, it is supposed to scroll to the topic you've typed in.  It seems if you have a large number of index items, it doesn't scroll.  It seems to work if you run the help by itself in a browser, but not in the application.

Looking for more info on a new option for WebHelp layouts: In the layout properties WebHelp Navigation screen (2nd page of properties) there is an option Show Navigation Page Link in Topics If I click the Help button on this screen, I see that this option is described as "Include a link to the navigation pane." I don't see any such link in my topics when I generate WebHelp with this option enabled. I am just viewing my output locally. Are these links only visible when the Help is called using the API from a server? Anyone using this option, or know what it is supposed to do? I am using Breadcrumbs Links and these are working fine.

I want to rename my project & used the Rename Project feature; however, my primarily layout & others SSLs still have the old project name appearing in the IE Title Bar. How do I change that?

Editing a Help system within RoboHelp 11 on Win 7 system. Is there a way to track the changes I am making so that they will be findable in the FrameMaker or Word PDF that I circulate for review?Thanks.

Since we have ordered Adobe Technical Suite already, I hope I like the answers to these questions. I'm having a hard time finding the answers.When the new product arrives, can we just install it and open our previous projects (with merged TOCs) and work on them with no problem? The TOCs and merged projects are my biggest concern in the upgrade...Can I create HTML5 Help with its nice formatting and maybe other features and create a chm output for now? That sounds counter-intuitive, but I was told by Adobe I could do that. Isn't it that you create your help and choose the output you want and it can be either HTML5 or chms? or is the HTML5 just compiled like regular HTML help? (We are hoping to get away from chms soon, but we do need to start with them.)If creating chms from HTML5 help does work, do all of the features offered in HTML5 work that way? Responsive, the really nice new layout, dynamic filtering? Some of these we really want to use more down the road, but I just want to know.

I'm using RoboHelp 2015, trying to generate Webhelp.I keep having a problem where something goes wrong and RoboHELP insists on keeping the wrongness. For example, I had a bulleted list that had a graphic in a line of text. When I generated Webhelp, the graphic was missing - all I got was the "no graphic" icon. I edited the list and re-imported the graphic, and regenerated Webhelp - same result. I manually edited the code on that list line to re-import the graphic - same result. I tried resizing the graphic - same result.I tried creating a second copy of that line in the list. This time, the graphic showed in the Webhelp. But when I edited the list again and took out the original line, the one that I had copied, once again the graphic was missing from the Webhelp. No matter what I did, as long as that line was inside that bulleted list, that one graphic refused to appear in the Webhelp. Hi,I've used RH for a few years now (WebHelp w/Zoom Search) on a couple of our software documentation projects which much success.I was given some auto-generated java/api related technical html pages (all self-contained nicely in its own "project" but not a RH project) which needs to be reviewed and edited.  To edit it, I do not want to import this as a project into RH because it's going to generate all this extra stuff in the code, have to import the css, skins, etc.  It'll be a mess.   I really just need to review and touch a lot of text - some for english translations and others for just normal editing.  We are talking more than 1000+ files which need to be reviewed and modified.Other than opening the html page and going to "view source".......can I somehow use the RH interface to modify the text directly?  It's dangerous to do a global find/replace on common phrases, I really need to look at each modification individually........however tedious..is it

Been using RoboHelp 11 for a quite a while, and running into an issue with links to topics on one page (page has about 40 links). All of the links work fine in development (and when I view the generated output). However, when the project is posted to the internal server for our users, only abuot 9 of the links on this page work. For the rest, nothing happens when the users click. It just seems to be an issue with this one topic; I have others that have multiple links to existing topics with no issue. Thoughts? Are there just too many links?Thank you!

I have Robohelp 2015 and need to create an additional English BRI version of my existing English USA version help file. Has anyone done this and can advise on the best way to go about it?
