I want to rename my project & used the Rename Project feature; however, my primarily layout & others SSLs still have the old project name appearing in the IE Title Bar. How do I change that?
Editing a Help system within RoboHelp 11 on Win 7 system. Is there a way to track the changes I am making so that they will be findable in the FrameMaker or Word PDF that I circulate for review? Thanks.
Since we have ordered Adobe Technical Suite already, I hope I like the answers to these questions. I'm having a hard time finding the answers. When the new product arrives, can we just install it and open our previous projects (with merged TOCs) and work on them with no problem? The TOCs and merged projects are my biggest concern in the upgrade...Can I create HTML5 Help with its nice formatting and maybe other features and create a chm output for now? That sounds counter-intuitive, but I was told by Adobe I could do that. Isn't it that you create your help and choose the output you want and it can be either HTML5 or chms? or is the HTML5 just compiled like regular HTML help? (We are hoping to get away from chms soon, but we do need to start with them.)If creating chms from HTML5 help does work, do all of the features offered in HTML5 work that way? Responsive, the really nice new layout, dynamic filtering? Some of these we really want to use more down the road, but I just want to know.
I'm using RoboHelp 2015, trying to generate Webhelp.I keep having a problem where something goes wrong and RoboHELP insists on keeping the wrongness. For example, I had a bulleted list that had a graphic in a line of text. When I generated Webhelp, the graphic was missing - all I got was the "no graphic" icon. I edited the list and re-imported the graphic, and regenerated Webhelp - same result. I manually edited the code on that list line to re-import the graphic - same result. I tried resizing the graphic - same result.I tried creating a second copy of that line in the list. This time, the graphic showed in the Webhelp. But when I edited the list again and took out the original line, the one that I had copied, once again the graphic was missing from the Webhelp. No matter what I did, as long as that line was inside that bulleted list, that one graphic refused to appear in the Webhelp. The only way I could finally get it to show reliably was to delete the entire bulleted list - all nin
Hi,I've used RH for a few years now (WebHelp w/Zoom Search) on a couple of our software documentation projects which much success.I was given some auto-generated java/api related technical html pages (all self-contained nicely in its own "project" but not a RH project) which needs to be reviewed and edited. To edit it, I do not want to import this as a project into RH because it's going to generate all this extra stuff in the code, have to import the css, skins, etc. It'll be a mess. I really just need to review and touch a lot of text - some for english translations and others for just normal editing. We are talking more than 1000+ files which need to be reviewed and modified.Other than opening the html page and going to "view source".......can I somehow use the RH interface to modify the text directly? It's dangerous to do a global find/replace on common phrases, I really need to look at each modification individually........however tedious..is it
Been using RoboHelp 11 for a quite a while, and running into an issue with links to topics on one page (page has about 40 links). All of the links work fine in development (and when I view the generated output). However, when the project is posted to the internal server for our users, only abuot 9 of the links on this page work. For the rest, nothing happens when the users click. It just seems to be an issue with this one topic; I have others that have multiple links to existing topics with no issue. Thoughts? Are there just too many links?Thank you!
I have Robohelp 2015 and need to create an additional English BRI version of my existing English USA version help file. Has anyone done this and can advise on the best way to go about it?
I'm using RoboHelp 2015, trying to produce Responsive HTML. Every time I generate this output (using the Theme1_Standard layout, no customizations), this is the only thing that appears on screen:The red bar is part of the logo on the title page. The blue border I added just to mark the edges of what I see on screen.I am new to RoboHelp 2015. In fact, this is the first time I've used RoboHelp in more than 10 years. I have no idea what is happening. Can anyone help? I have a deadline coming up and am about to go nuts.
So, in the skin I'm using I see SEVERAL icons, including "previous" and "next" . However, when I go to the Webhelp properties window for my project, I don't have those options to include - only TOC, Index, Search, Glossary, and Print. Why would I not be able to include those icons and their functionality in Webhelp if they are in the selected skin? Is there another setting I'm missing? Thanks,kb
My entry screen in RoboHelp is quite long (15'?) which results in the text size being quite small (see attached). The resulting text in the generated/output file is as expected. If I increase the % in the View section of the Edit tab, it helps somewhat, however I now need to scroll right to get to the rest of the screen. Is there a way to reduce the width of the work space that will also result in a larger text size without the need to scroll? I've been using RH for several years and have never had to work with text this small.RH2015 12.0.1.338
I have had this issue in almost all versions, currently using 11. Created new topics, imported old topics that have worked, also created new "test" projects with one topic in it with a text hotspot. This is what I am doing.1. With the mouse I highlight the text I want to use as a drop-down.2. Click on DHTML>Create Drop-down Hotspot and Text.3. Enter my text in the text bow.4. Compile the project and run the file and it works. 5. I then copy all the files from my local computer to a network folder.6. I open a topic with some drop-down text and click on the link for the drop-down and nothing happens. So the hotspot link does not produce the drop-down text box. Any ideas, I haven't really seen a solution on this board except for re-installing which may or may not work. Thanks Alan.
I've been having a problem when I generate a Word document for printed documentation purposes that in Word when I select a table to do something, for example, to borders, Word crashes. Is there a solution to this other than not selecting the whole table? Thanks,MDawn
Only with IE 10 this happens. If a use opens a help screen and then navigates to another web page and does not close the original help screen, when the click the help to open only a blank screen opens.
When I try to open a file in RH 9, I get an error message that says: "An error occurred while trying to read data from <C:\Data\RoboHelp Projects\DSDM\rhbag.apj> <1>."Although I can see all of my files in the project using Windows Explorer, nothing shows up in RoboHelp.Any suggestions?
On November 18, 2011, J. Smith started a discussion titled "Show Merged TOC in Child Project" saying he could not get the merged TOC to show when opening a child project directly.Peter Grainge replied that he had not been able to get it to work.Has anyone been able to get it to work since 2011?I have read and followed Peter Grainge's document about Merging Help: http://www.grainge.org/pages/authoring/merging_webhelp/merging_method_rh9.htm#tocNeither I nor the developer have been able to get the merged TOC to show when opening it from a child project. I am using RoboHelp 2015 on a Windows 7 computer.Thank you for your help.Diane
I'm getting a crash on any RH project (even the samples that came with RH) whenever I choose the AutoCorrect tab in the Spelling Options.RoboHelp 2015Windows 7 64-bit16 GB Ram (Dell Precision T3600)We use Mercurial for source control. It must be something unique to my system because my colleagues do not get the same thing.Ideas on what's causing it? Other tabs and dialogs seems to open fine.
There is an issue using the HHC.exe with Robohelp v8; the *.hhc (table of contents file) is saved in XML format BUT hhc.exe expects the format to be HTML ... so it cannot process the file and the compiled help (*.chm) file will have no table of contents (and no topics)I did check the Tools|Options|Convert RoboHelp edited topics to HTML ..... this does not help (in fact seemed to do nothing at all?)There is another post with this exact issue ... that was never answered (Nov 9 2012)the exact error message is as described in the other post>>HHC6000: Error: An internal file could not be created. Make certain there is enough disk space on the drive where you are compiling your file.HHC5007: Error: Fatal navigational compilation error. This is likely the result of an invalid contents (.hhc) file.all I need to do is be able to use the HHC.exe which is used in our automated build process ..... so I need to be able to convert (or save) the *.hhc file in HTML formatThanks
When I hover over links they're getting blocked out.
I created a CSS which I wanted to apply to my Printed Word Document. I applied the CSS to every topic and even while generating the output I selected the CSS i wanted to apply. But after the word file is generated none of the style is being applied. Is there a solution to it?
I created a CSS which I wanted to apply to the my document while generating a Word output. I applied the CSS to every topic by going to their Properties. Also in the Printed Document wizard, I selected the stylesheet radio button and selected the CSS I wanted to apply. But the word document does not show any styles being applied. Is their a solution?
We've developed several projects in the months I've been here, and I was thinking that it would be convenient to set up a .css file and store it somewhere, then import it whenever I begin a new project, rather than have to set up a new .css file every time. It would also ensure consistency.FYI: I'm using RH2015, with WebHelp as output.thanks,Lon
I recently upgraded from RoboHelp 9 to RoboHelp 2015, and I've installed all the latest updates. I use WebHelp output for the majority of my projects. I would love to use the new features of RH 2015, specifically the Responsive HTML5 output; however, when I open a project created with RH9, this output type is unavailable. This output type and many others are not listed as options I can select including Multiscreen HTML5, eBook, and others. I tried creating a new project with RH 2015 and importing the files from my RH9 project, but the Responsive HTML5 output and others remained unavailable. Are there settings I can change in my existing project or in RH 2015 to be able to use these new output types and features? Re-creating every topic in RH 2015 seems like a very undesirable solution.Operating System: Windows 7, 64-bit
I have RoboHelp 2015 using HTML5. I have entered new Baggage / PDFs then linked them. When I run output the list is gone. All links work just fine. Why do the list not stay under Baggage. I know I can see a list under tools or C Drive.Could this be a change needed?[Moved from the general, non-support Forum Lounge to a product-specific support forum - Mod]
Hello,I'm using RoboHelp 11, publishing WebHelp Pro to RoboServer 9. Viewing output on Chrome and IE 11. I have been trying to figure out how to build twisties into my project for drop down hotspots. After struggling with it all day yesterday I gave up. Then today a reviewer sent me some revisions by copy/pasting from the published webpage to a word document. In this word doc I could see the twistie images. So I went to replicate this myself - copied a dropdown hotspot from the website and pasted into word, and the twistie image was there.I then generated the SSL and viewed it before publishing - still no twisties visible. Here are examples:This is the Published web page, the arrows point out where twisties should be. I did notice a javascript message when hovering over the drop down - maybe this is the issue?Same section Copy/pasted into Word - red arrows pointing out the twistie images I chose yesterday:And finally, this is screen shot of the same content inside the project file in Ro
