RH 11 WebhelpSearch instructions would be useful; for example, people seldom think of using NOT. Is there a good way to add an instruction to the default skin, or add a search instruction that stays at the top of the search field?Thank you

I'm using RoboHelp 15 and somehow screwed up my desktop. How do I return it to the default?

When using em or % sizes in CSS, the headings are not rendering properly in Design View (RH 2015). This can be reproduced very easily: Create a new empty project, edit default.css and make the following settings:h1, h2, h3, p {    font-family: Arial;    font-size: 100%;}Now headings 1, 2, 3, and paragraphs should all be displayed in the browser's default font size (normally 16px). In the topic preview (and in all modern browsers), this is exactly the case:However, when looking at the same topic in Design View, all headings are displayed in different sizes, and all of them are too large:It seems that the Design View is ignoring the font-size % statement and uses fixed inherited sizes instead.With 1em instead of 100%, the behaviour is exactly the same.As a result, I am unable to use % or em sizes in my RH project because the headings appear in ridiculously blown up sizes. Hello,Wondering if anyone is having a similar issue.  I just upgraded from RH9 to RH11.  When using the 'view select topic' button (the glasses) the hyperlinks that go to another page are working fine, but pops are grayed out and not working.  They work fine in the generated .chm, so it is not a show-stopper in getting content to clients, but it is a hassle when wanting to verify everything works and looks good in the viewer before taking the time to compile.  Any thoughts?Thanks.

I'm using Robohelp 2015 with Windows 10 OS.  Is RH 2015 compatible with Windows 10 yet?  I'm having problems with the software not responding, particularly when creating or editing a hyperlink.  When I click OK, nothing happens.  My coworkers are running Windows 7 and using RH 2015, and they're not having any issues.  We're troubleshooting the problem, and would like more information to determine the cause.

After six hours of experimentation and thorough reading of the RH forums, I cannot get a simple list to display the same in both Design View and View Item.  If someone can help me, I would be most grateful.  I have over 400 pages -- most with lists -- to do in RoboHelp 2015 on Windows 10 on a 1080p monitor at 96dpi.  I have tried multiple combinations of margin-left, margin-right, padding-left, text-indent and list-style-position attributes.   I have tried positive values and negative values in many different combinations.  The result: if the Design View is WYSIWYG then the View Item is not ... and vice-versa.  This problem takes away some of the usefulness of using the RoboHelp Editor for me.  Now, I am faced with having to use two CSS style sheets -- one .css for CHM output (with smaller margin-left's) and another different .css (with larger margin-left's) just to see what the pages will look like.  Help?      -- Frustr

Need to add context sensitive help to our web application--this is first time I've done this. Have only done CSH with client-based applications on in the past. Any resources or tutorials out there to help me get started?

When I start RoboHelp, I was always clicking on open, and choosing the project file I want to work on. But today when I clicked on Open, nothing happened...it just freezed down, and I could not even close the program. If there are options or ideas why this happens...I woudl really appreciate for sharing. Thank you!

First, thank you for your help. We have RoboHelp 11 project that was working fine. Then we opened, and the files and TOC did not display.  They were somehow removed from the project. We turned on the "Clear project cache (.cpd file) before opening any project." But that did not fix the problem.  Does anyone have any idea what a happened?  The project was working fine, then the files and TOC vanished from the project upon opening.  Many thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RH 2015. Project Manager, HTML Files (Topics) view.We've got a folder that contains more than 40 topics.We have a topic that we want to move. The file name begins with "U", which puts the file at the bottom of the list.When we scroll to the topic, we can no longer see the folder name or any folders that precede the current folder. For example, I've selected file "Using ..." in the Loss Analysis folder and can no longer see the Administration folder in the Project Manager tree.When I drag the folder up, I get the "can't move this icon". Hi,I'm using RH 2015 and outputting to Responsive HTML5 output. I'd like to include a "Show Me" button in complex how-to topics that when clicked, opens a short mp4 video. Is this possible? I'm not a css whiz...I've attempted to create a button using Insert > HTML Form > Button but that seems like it just adds a button that has no meaning or purpose. Perhaps I'm missing a step to link to the mp4 file? Thanks for any help or suggestions,Karen

  Is there a way to make certain portions of a table of contents invisible to some groups, but visible to others?  For instance, let’s say I’m creating a RoboHelp project for a website that has some accessibility to the general public, but other sections of the site unavailable to the public; also, some portions of the website available to certain departments in our organization, but not to others. Put another way, say our company has sections A, B, C and D. The general public would not have access to the topics in the website concerned with these sections, and, in fact, each section would be “partitioned” from the others, so that the people in section A would only see ToC entries for section A, etc.  Confused? I am running RH 2015 and created this project. About a week ago, an issue came up where WebHelp links to GIF & JPG images no longer worked. PNG images are able to display. I deleted the CPD and re-compiled. The fix worked for a couple of days and now is having the issue again. The only thing I have done differently was to install RH11 to help a colleague on another project. I did not remove RH 2015 before this. When I went to open the XPJ of the RH 2015 project, I received a message where the project was created in a later version. I was surprised (since I clicked on the XPJ) that the program wouldn't launch RH 2015. I then removed RH 11 from my computer and the project opened fine.I'm going to try removing RH 2015 from my system and re-installing. In the meantime, here's a screenshot of the issue. Any insight would be appreciated. Client is using both IE and Chrome to view the WebHelp (this has been going on for the past year) without issue. -- Thanks.  Anet

Hello everybody,I'm working on different help procjects which should be published on one server space. Because in multiscreen layout each project generates similar output - for example the grafics for buttons  and so on - I've tried to copy all single outputs in one folder hirarchy. Therfor all the files in the project (topics and grafics) have an idividual name.  So far so good.When I now merge the output folders, in the folders for the different screen layouts there is the file index.htm. The name of the start page, entered in the dialog box "multiscreen-html5-settings" doesn't effect that name.So my problem is, that everytime I call one of the starting pages, the last copied help project is opened. I've tried to find out on which way this file is accessed... probably by a java script.Has anyone an idea how to fix that problem?Thanks for your answers,Stefan

I'm creating a responsive HTML5 Help system, and one of the requirements for it is setting fonts and font sizes in the sidebar (Search, TOC, index, etc.)In the Output settings all i can set is the color of the sidebar text. is there a way to set the fonts and sizes as well?Thanks,

Hi. I'm working with a help system that consists of 28 merged CHM files. There are many topics that have links to topics in other CHM files. The issue is that we now want to publish the help online -- but we want to keep the CHM files too.For new links, I think I would approach this by creating two links, one for the CHM output and one for the web output, and use conditional tags to control which appears in the output.My problem is what to do with the hundreds of existing links. I don't have the bandwidth to manually change all of them. So I need an automated way to update the links.My original post had a code sample with a link that landed me in the moderator queue. I'll replace it with an image showing what I hope to accomplish...Has anyone tackled this type of situation? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Ashley

Robohelp HTML version 7.00.145I have successfully caused the completed .CHM window to accurately state the name of our product with which my online help is published.However, I cannot figure out how to change the title bar of my project as I am WORKING on the project. It doesn't affect the output, but it makes me nervous.We are releasing two different versions of our product, with completely different version names, in close proximity, and I want to minimize the chances of anybody (including me) getting confused.The attached screen capture shows the ways that I have NOT succeeded in changing my project name in the Robohelp project interface's title bar. I wish this was larger, but the project title bar at extreme upper left does not match all the places where I have successfully (thank goodness) changed our product name as displayed in the completed .CHM file's displayed windows.I've looked carefully through Window Properties and its Advanced Properties, as seen above.I've also looked

Hello,I had import a Word document into RoboHelp 2015.The problem is, all images are not in full size. I do right-click on each picture > Reset size.But this process is very long and I would like know an another method for import as original picture size or reset all pictures by a macro.Best regards,Johan

RoboHelp HTML Version 10Hi all,I was trying to change the name of a variable like I have done in the past, but received an error message in the middle of changing it. I apologize, I didn't note it at the time because I did not believe there would be a follow up issue. After restarting RoboHelp, I now have a duplicate variable of everything I have entered to this point. I have tried changing one of the variables thinking it might just be a glitch, but it does not affect the other variable. I have restarted my computer and it is not an issue with that either. Does anyone know what could have caused this and more importantly a way to fix it without going through each individual variable and deleting it?

I have a problem with generated Web help: Left aligned text in header is shown right aligned in Explorer (9, 10 and 11) with RH 11.It puzzles me what has changed since RH9 where this never happened:1) the header is set up in the Master page.2) when generated the individual html page show it correctly when displayed in Explorer:here seen as a topic3) However when customers access the webhelp they see it right-aligned:I'm baffeled and at my wits end. Help!

All of my links now need to open in a new window. However, the page default has them all opening in the same frame. I have to manually change the setting for every link by going into Properties>Advanced and clicking New Window from the dropdown.I changed that setting on one link, and looked into the HTML code to see the command. But there didn't appear to be any way I could use that command (target="_blank) in a Search and Replace function in each project because I need to insert it into the hyperlink code, which is always unique. "Search and Replace" was Plan B when I couldn't find any way to change the setting in the project. How do I do this? I have a massive number of links to update with this command. I really need to automate it. Map file is not locked. Can not Assign, Unassign, or Auto-map in Edit Map IDs dialog. I have done this before many times in earlier version of Robohelp with no problem.

I'm using RH 11.0.4.291. Has anyone experienced this before (see screen capture)? I want to fix this so I don't leave it for future tech writers. Any suggestions are appreciated.
