Please run the attached code and tell me I"m not crazy. DateDiff did not calculate the correct number starting with this date >>> (04/03/2006)... once it hit's that date the count does not increment and then the next date continues incrementing... but with all results now off by one. What is going on... I need to use DateDiff to get the correct number? Is there another calculation that I can use to get the difference between two dates... giving me the actual count between those dates? Do you see the same crazy behaviour on your end? Here is what I see on my side: (87??) -- 88 (86??) -- 87 86 -- 86 85 -- 85 Thanks for the input.

I'm having a problem with variables that are created from a XML file. I'm using XMLParse() and XMLSearch() to create the XML into coldfusion variables. However, I dont know how to output the variables that have ":"'s in them. I tried: #myXML.XmlAttributes.msprop:Header# But that doesn't work. I get an error when it geets to the ":". Any ideas?

Hi, beginner web person here. I work for a smal school district and we are trying to create a web site that will display data from a database. We need both quicktime files OR image files to display in the space. A past student has written us the code below but it doesn't seem to work quite right. According ot the code, it is supposed to look at the file name and if it is a .mov, then embed as a plug in. If it is an image file, it is supposed to use IMG in the string. It always uses EMBED no matter what type of file name is referenced. Any help would be greatly appreciate!

ok. im trying to get the data that is entered into the created text fields and turn them into an Array. for some reason it reads the text field varibles as the variable name not the value of the text field. anyone got any idea how to work this out? the code: word = "test_test"; amount = word.length; letters = new Array(); for (x=0; x<amount; x++) { xpos = 100; xpos = xpos + x * 25; createTextField("Box_"+ , x, xpos, 150, 20,20); _root["Box_" + x].type = "input" _root["Box_" + x].background=true; _root["Box_" + x].border=true; _root["Box_" + x].backgroundColor=0xFFFFFF;//white _root["Box_" + x].borderColor=0x000000;//black _root["Box_" + x].multiline=false; _root["Box_" + x].wordWrap=false; _root["Box_" + x].variable = "myText"+x _root["Box_" + x].maxChars = 1; _root["Box_" + x].tabEnabled = false; btn.onPress = function(){ got = new Array(amount) for(i=0; i<amount; i++){ got = "myText[" + i + "]"; trace(got); } }

Hello - I have a single form with two buttons, currently named 'Button1' and 'Button2'. Both buttons lead through the default DW/php code to update database records (in MySQL), but I want the page redirect after updating to be determined by which button was pushed. I am using $_GET['ButtonName'] to direct action based on which button was used to submit the form. Unfortunately, I can't seem to redirect the page where I want. The code I am using is: ======= if (isset($_GET['Button1'])) { $updateGoTo = "edit_onepage.php"; } else { $updateGoTo = "account.php"; } ======== If the user submits using Button1, I want them forwarded to "edit_onepage.php". If he submits using Button2, I want him forwarded to "account.php". Unfortunately, no matter how I fiddle with this code, the form is always forwarding to "account.php", regardless of which button is pushed. Can anyone see what I am missing here? Thanks in advance for your advice.

Hi, does anyone know of a free dynamic popup extension out there? So far the other image extensions I have found all require a .jpg file. I am using it for a dynamic page and need to use it with a dynamic attribute <img src="#photos.primaryImage1#">. Thanks Shane

The action script below loads two videos ( first.flv, second.flv) then plays them consecutively. I would like to load the videos as variables from a PHP page that this flash is embeded in - something like: $first_flv = "first.flv"; $second_flv = "second.flv"; How can I get $first_flv and $second_flv into flash variables that can replace the hard-coded ( "first.flv", "second.flv") below? //action script var videoLoaderIndex:Number = 0; var videoPlayerIndex:Number = 0; var videoList:Array = new Array( "first.flv", "second.flv"); vidComp.contentPath = videoList[0]; function eready(e:Object):Void { if( videoLoaderIndex < videoList.length ) { videoLoaderIndex++; vidComp.activeVideoPlayerIndex = videoLoaderIndex; vidComp.load( videoList[videoLoaderIndex] ); } } vidComp.addEventListener("ready", eready); function ecomplete(e:Object):Void { ++videoPlayerIndex; if(videoPlayerIndex >= videoList.length) { videoPlayerIndex = 0; } vidComp.activeVideoPlayerIndex = videoPlay

Not sure how to do this one: I want to trigger an action when the playhead reaches a certain labeled frame. I can make it work using: if (_currentframe == 10){ dothis; } but I anticipate moving things around in the timeline so I would rather have the action triggered when the playhead reaches a certain frame label. I tried using something like: if (frameLabel == "myframenamehere") { dothis; } but that doesn't work. Any help much appreciated! Michael

Hello there, I am totally green in web development. my goal is to, for the user will input a date range from and to and will out put the records in the intranet when they press a button. However, the good news is: I have experience in programming. I have written applications for desktop in VB>NET and I understand RDBMS /sql concepts . But CF and WEB development is new to me. My current projects involves in connecting to DB and testing it. (it works fine) And outputting reports by to a intranet page. (records) i need help on how to start this asap. I will even do some practice at home. Tools I have at work • Development server(test) • Home site. • Toad for db connection. • Html reference guide • Cf dummies book. How can start my projects. (ex. Create cf, outputpage?) seriously, I am new to this. Thanks.

I have a series of forms for a shopping cart checkout. The way the client has it setup, the user fills out a form with their name, address, etc and then goes to a page to select payment method. If credit card is selected, a form with standard CC number, exp. date comes up. Also on this page, the user fills out the billing address. There is a check box for if the billing address is the same the the user's address. I need for the billing form to be auto-filled if the checkbox is selected. I know how to do this if the 2 forms are on the same screen, but in this case the first form is filled out previously. The info from the first form is in a table, so I can query the database to get the address information. But how do I get these ColdFusion variables into the Javascript? JS is not my strong suit, but here is a script I've used before: <script language="JavaScript"> function useBillInfo(form) { var idx; { form.ShipTo_Name_First.value= form.BillTo_Name_First.value; form.Ship

Hi, First of all, i will declare i am a total noob at flash, i have been using it for the past few weeks and am just getting to grips with it, but there is one thing that i have been trying to do for the past 2 days and it really is driving me up the wall. I have searched the net and this forum and nothing seems to work. I was trying to link scenes, and i tried everything, naming frames, _root, etc.. and nothing worked, and i read that linking scenes was a bad idea, so im just gonna link to frames now on the one scene. The problem i have now is, at the end of the scene i have a stop, this is at frame 60, and i have 4 buttons which i want to link to different scenarios, so i was gonna link each button to a specific frame number, I tried to link the button to frame 61 to start playing there, but it goes all the way back to the start of the scene and doesnt play frame 61 because there is a stop. all i want it to do is from the button relaease, play frame 61 and stop at 80, but it wont?

Hi guys, I'm new here! I wondered if anyone could explain to me what I'm doing wrong here. As part of a Flash-based campus mapping system, I am trying to create a 'Room Information' box that will display certain information regarding rooms around the campus, based upon data stored in a Microsoft Access database. The .asp file I am using is working correctly, and my dynamic text boxes are correctly displaying the information as each database record is queried. However, I am also trying to display an image of the room. The image files are located in the same directory as the .swf, they are non-progressive .jpgs. I have been trying to use the following code (which works for everything but the images): onClipEvent(data) { // Create a Movie Clip to load images into mcRoomDatabase.createEmptyMovieClip("MyImagesHolder", 0); strName = Name; strBuilding = Building; strType = Type; strProjector = Projector; strSeats = Seats; strRoamNet = RoamNet; strPosition = "Record " add Stri

I am new to dynamic site development. Am caught up in a very basic issue. I am using XP Pro, IIS is working, am trying to set up a ASPjavascript page. In "site definition", "testing files", my URL is http://localhost/test. "Test URL" gives error "Dreamweaver cannot use the prefix you entered to display live data Please double check your site configuration or click Help for more information (HTTP error:12029)". If I ignore this and complete the site definition, when I make a new ASP javascript page, the Application Databases, Bindings, Server behaviours etc don't work - "Set up the sites testing server" is not checked. I have tried to read through books, forums etc. Haven't been able to resolve this problem. The folder "test" is located at c:\inetpub\wwwroot\. The IIS http://localhost/ works fine. If i put in a file in the test folder "index.html" and type in http://localhost/test/index.html , the page opens. I'd greatly appreciate any help on this issue.

I'm trying to view the tables on my local mysql database (MySQL v 5.1). I get this error in the database panel when I expand the tables: "While executing getComponentChildren in Connections.htm, the following JavaScript error(s) occured: At line 64 of file "C:\\...\Dreamweaver 8\Configuration\Components\Common\Connections\ConnectionsCommon.js": TypeError: dwscripts.isDateDBColumType is not a function" Where the table items should be listed, I just see a branch that says "Loading..." and it just sits there. I have the 8.0.1 update installed, and just can't figure out what is wrong. I have several extensions installed (mostly WebAssist and a few others). Does anybody know what to do to fix? Am I missing some compatibility info? Thanks...

Has anyone had a successful install of coldfusion mx7.0.1 in a linux vmware session? I found an issue listed on this site for coldfusion installed in a windows vmware session. I tried the work around using a silent install and still had installation issues. hello everybody! 1 hey, i wanna customize my mouse pointer / cursor with a hand image. and it looks like this: defaut cursor = open hand. over a clikable element = closed hand with a straight finger (like the default cursor over any html link) pressed mouse button = same as the previous, but rotated a few degrees and i get this code to add to the image cursor: onClipEvent (load) { Mouse.hide(); } onClipEvent (enterFrame) { this._x = _parent._xmouse; this._y = _parent._ymouse; } onClipEvent (unload) { Mouse.show(); } then i have to add this code to any button: on (press) { tellTarget ("/cursor") { gotoAndStop("down"); } } on (rollOver) { tellTarget ("/cursor") { gotoAndStop("over"); } } on (rollOut) { tellTarget ("/cursor") { gotoAndStop("default"); } } and a button with the movie size, at the bottom of all layers with this code: on (press) { tellTarget ("/cursor") { gotoAndStop("down"); } } on (release, releaseOutside, rollOver, rollOut, dragOver, dragOut) {

I have a form with a nested iframe. At the top of the form (outside the iframe) there is a drop-down box that is used to filter a large database table into a smaller result set. The iframe displays this result set in a table/grid, and each row has a check-box. The form must also have a 'submit' button (outside the iframe), which will update a second database table with the rows selected from the iframe grid entries that were selected using the checkboxes. So, the form's filter function creates the contents of the iframe, and the form's submit button uses the selected contents of the iframe to perform a database insert. Is this possible??? Thanks!

As i understand, padding paragraphs isn't supported in Flash. I'm not happy to just put a full line height after each paragraph, especially because the texts on my site will be loaded from a XML source. You'll find on my working site, an example on the Ego section. The XML file loaded can be found there. 1. The first solution for me was to put an extra node ( <espace> </espace> ) after each new paragraph and put all the text into a dynamic textfield. This is actually what is code. 2. Another solution would be this code. It creates a textfield for each node and place it after the code calculated the needed height. (see below) This, however has a drawback, i'm not fluent enough for now to how to devise a scrolling area for all these textfields... And is this the right method anyway? How do you manage spaces between paragraph? I want a simple solution for coding the XML file since it could be another person who will deal with the content. Which method is preferable

I need some one's help so badly........ I have been trying to do it on my own but I can only seem to solve one or 2 problems. Im making my own mp3 music interface player; it has 2 songs to be played and has a grey rect. backgrd, a play,pause, stop, forward,backward, volume,seekbar, and mute button. Everything is on its own layer and I do have my script hints on but i still do not fully understand the hints ( mainly knowing where to input filenames and what not ) I tried to use just behaviors for the player and had little success. I found out from a lot of my reading about flash that i need action script 2.0 to get this to work properly. Im new to flash 8 been working on it for about a week, i have used flash5 and director mx so i have some what of an idea on how things work in these kinds of programs. Im just not familar with actionscript but trying to be.... If I can get this to work there is one more obsticle I need to face: I need to put this player on the homepage of a website. I

Hello, Hope this is the right forum. Simple question: I create a new file with a white background. Next I open a digital color image. I select and move a portion of the digital image onto the first, white layer. I transform the image. I select the image layer and apply a gradient to the image layer and it covers the entire canvas, which I do not want. How do I apply filters only to the image layer? I want the original background to act as a frame. Thanks.

I'm having problems getting pseudo resources to work. I've written a format plug-in and I'm trying to store some text from the file header similar to the history resource in the SimpleFormat example. When I add the resource, I get no errors. If I check the resource count, it shows it has been added. However, whenever I save the file, the resource count always returns 0. What am I missing? I just need a place to preserve some text from the file's header. Thanks. Photoshop CS2 SDK, OSX 10.4.2
