Anyone know how to load an external swf into a new window AND have it skip to a specific frame? Thanks in advance, Mookymook

Greetings, I recently have purchased a new laptop, and have installed DW8. I am wanting to get CFmx7 up and running but can't seem to get it to work in a development environment. The computer is brand new VAIO, with the latest XP home edition. I have installed CFmx7, and choose "built in web server", along with choosing an admin and RDS login password. But in dreamweaver, none of the CF functions are working, and I get the message "coldfusion may not be running", etc. I've checked "Administrative Services" and CF services are running correctly. IIS is available and installed. I've had CFmx7 running on my previous computer, and remember having this same problem in the beginning. But, don't remember how it was solved.... Can anyone tell me what I've done wrong. I've installed and uninstalled both CF and DW four times each. thanks, Stephen Tallahassee, FL

Hi, I need to make a dropdown box whose options depend on a previously selected dropdown box. For instance, if I have two boxes, one labeled state and one labeled city, I want the city box to only contain cities in the state that is specified in the state box. Is there a way to do this in coldfusion? Thanks.

When you have a file open you can right click the top of it and select to show standard, document, coding, ect ect. Well I want to ADD an item to that bar, is it possible? What I truely want to accomplish, is to add the CODE INSPECTORS ability to go straight to functions, onto the main document. Currently I work with half screen code inspector, and half screen the file im working on. Then to find a function I goto the code inspector, find it, and go back. The icon is the little squiggly brackets. { } with a drop down arrow. I want to move that icon, with its functions and stuff, to the normal document menubar. This would help me so much!

Please help me some math or C gurus, I am in no way a math or C expert and this has made realy huble. My system calculates checksums based on the National Marine Electronics Association standard. The standard is supported by most GPS systems. I need to generate a hexadecimal number using the checksum of a string according to this and attached C code as an example. The format of an NMEA sentence is as follows: $GPRMC,235947.000,V,0000.0000,N,00000.0000,E,,,041299,,*1D<Carriage return> The checksum immediately follows the ‘*’ (asterisk) character and is computed by taking the bit-wise exclusive-OR of all characters between the ‘$’ (dollar sign) and the ‘*’ (asterisk). The checksum is represented in hexadecimal and is 1D (decimal 29) for the example sentence above. The following standard C code demonstrates the checksum calculation. #include <stdio.h> unsigned char calc_checksum(const char *s) { unsigned char result; result = 0; s++; // Skip dollar sign while ((*

Hi, Objective: Display a book that the user can turn the pages to view more text. I used a tutorial from the web to create the turning page. Process: On layer 1, frame 1 of the main time line, I put an image of a book. On layer 2, frame 1 and also frame 2 of the main time line, I put text for the book. I then created a movie clip (MC) called PageTurnMC that looks like a page in the book is being turned. On layer 3 of the main time line, I put an instance of the MC and called it PageTurn. On layer 4 of the main time line, I put a button to play the MC and advance to frame 2 called drawer1cont (see code). //code on the button used to turn the book's page on (release) { PageTurn.play(); //plays my PageTurnMC gotoAndStop("drawer1cont"); //advance to the next frame of text } Problem: I need to detect when the end of the MC before I advance to the next frame. I have to use the PageTurnMC many times, so it is not possible for me to put the action in the last frame of MC. As of right now,

I'm trying to create a temp file for my extension, but it isn't working, here is the code I'm using. DWfile.write(dreamweaver.getConfigurationPath()+"Temp/myFolder/myFile.htm", "") What am I doing wrong?? Thanks

Hi I'm having problems with the mod_jrun20.so. Hello; I am new to ASP as well as Dreamweaver 8. I have been able to figure out a lot of things by self teaching but now I am stuck. (perhaps I am exhausted after so many hours!). I have created an ASP page where I have inserted a dynamic Listbox in it. I have successfuly populated the listbox. Here is what I m trying to do: when the user makes a selection in the Listbox, I would like to use the "onChange" event (which I still can't figure out how to use it) to generate a Recordset using the value of the selection. The new Recordset will give me a filename (which is in the database) that the user can download by clicking on a link. You could call it a Dynamic Link since everytime the user makes a different selction in the listbox, the link will link to a different filename. I have been working on this for at least 12 hours and eventhough I usually catchup very quickly, this one I am having a hard time with. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

I need a same action to occur for few movie clips. For example i have instances: P1 P2 P3 P4. I tried: Calling every one of them by one name. Writing P[1,2,3,4] Writing G = "P" +[1,2,3,4] Can anyone help me?

Hi There, I'm just having a few (simple) problems when trying to launch pages and files from my Flash projector. I'm wanting to launch local files (not online) from buttons in my projector using code similar to the following: on(release){ getURL("document.rtf","blank"); } This is working fine using IE as my default browser but FireFox requires that you specify the file:// protocol. Any tips on how to do this? I've tried a few variations but none seem to work: getURL("file:///document.rtf","blank"); Thanks for your help.

Hi I have the code below acting when I move my cursor over a button. It starts the movement of a movie clip. How can I stop the movement when the cursor leaves the button? on (rollOver) { this.onEnterFrame = function () { this.filmstripe_mc._x += 5; } } TIRislaa

Below I'm inserting a code example that I would like to know if the syntax is correct for the third JOIN. I know that it works for two JOINS. My question is if you have more than two, you just keep on adding like the line of the third JOIN. <cfquery name="query1" datasource"database"> SELECT column1, column2, column3, t1.XXID, t2.YYID, t3.ZZ1ID FROM (MainTable mt INNER JOIN Table1 t1 ON mt.XXID = t1.XXID) INNER JOIN Tabel2 t2 ON mt.YYID = t2.YYID INNER JOIN Tabel3 t3 ON mt.ZZID = t3.ZZID </cfquery> Also for the next example <cfquery name="query1" datasource"database"> SELECT column1, column2, column3, t1.XXID, t1.YYID, t1.ZZ1ID FROM (MainTable mt INNER JOIN Table1 t1 ON mt.XXID = t1.XXID) INNER JOIN Tabel1 t1 ON mt.YYID = t1.XXID INNER JOIN Tabel1 t1 ON mt.ZZID = t1.XXID </cfquery> Thanks Manuel Lino

this is driving me mad. i am using flash mx 2004 (on mac) I have the text file named "news.txt" in the same folder and my published swf file, but it will not load it, it just gives me a blank text box. in the text file i assigned the text: info=this is my text. and the dynamic text field is named "myText" i have an intro, so the text field doesnt show up until the 60th frame, which is where i placed the actionscript - does this matter? here is my code: var myLV:LoadVars = new LoadVars(); myLV.onLoad = function(success) { if (success) { myText.htmlText = myLV.info; } else { myText.text = "There was an error when loading the external file."; } }; myLV.load("news.txt");

I have a very simple preloader that loads an external SWF. It almost works. :-) I find that the external SWF pops up in the window--good--but the preloader keeps running over the top of it--bad. I've attached the actionscript that's in my preloader.... To see it in action, please go HERE. Thanks in advance! --bryan ================================================

Hi, I'm trying to build a coldfusion script that will allow users to upload files. This part works fine, but I'm also trying to get the script to generate the relevant linking tags for the uploaded file, depending on whether it's an image or not. To do this, I'm currently using a <cfif> statement to check the file extension, like this: <cfif #CFFILE.ServerFileExt# IS "jpg" OR "bmp" OR "gif" OR "png" OR "jpeg"> When I try to upload an image, it works fine and produces the relevant tags. But when I upload a file that isn't an image, it gives me this error: cannot convert the value "bmp" to a boolean I've also tried using the <CFIF IsArray(myarray) IS "condition1" OR "condition2"> statement, which also gave me errors. Would be grateful if anyone could help. Thanks.

Hi. I have a main.swf and sub1.swf, sub2.swf,... subN.swf files. They all use variables contained in myCode.as file. The sub... files are loaded on empty movie clips on the main.swf. The myCode.as file has: class myCode { var bReady1:Boolean = false; var bReady2:Boolean = false; ... var bReadyN:Boolean = false; } All the sub... files have: var f_N:myCode = new myCode(); this.onEnterFrame = function () { if (f_N.bReadyN == true) { trace ("Ready "+N); f_N.bReadyN = false; } } Finally, on the main.swf I have some buttons, each corresponding to a sub... file. var f_main:myCode = new myCode(); this.btButtonSubN.onPress = function () { f_main.bReadyN = true; } So, the way I figured this would work was: I press the button; bReadyN's value becomes "true"; on the next onEnterFrame, subN.swf sees bReadyN is true and traces the string. But I guess this isn't the correct way to do this, f_main.bReadyN and f_N.bReadyN don't seem to see the same variable, and I don't know why. Do

I've come across a somewhat perplexing problem. I'd be interested to see if the following works for other people: <cfset sql_var = "'something','something else'"> <cfquery name="test" datasource="db"> select id from table where somename in (#sql_var#) </cfquery> As it is this produces a sql error - coldfusion tries to run the query as select id from table where somename in (''something'',''something else'') That's with double single quotes around each of the strings, even though this wasn't specified in the variable sql_var. So I tried this: <cfset sql_var = "something','something else"> <cfquery name="test" datasource="db"> select id from table where somename in ('#sql_var#') </cfquery> Where variable sql_var only has single quotes in between the two strings, and I've added single quotes to the select statement. This produces no error, but no results either. The sql being run is select id from table where somename in ('something','somethin

Hello, I have a the following example variable in a script defined as such: mcDrg05OriginalX = mcDrg05._x; I wish to access this variable data within a button script, but dynamically by assembling the actual variable name: newName = holdName[landingCount]; relocateIDx = (newName + "OriginalX"); newName accesses the original name from an array, and relocateIDx assembles the full variable name to be mcDrg05OriginalX. Now I wish to access the original numerical value from that variable name, but how? I tried: _root[newName]._x = (relocateIDx); _root[newName]._x = [relocateIDx]; maybe the answer is out there. Thanks in advance.

okay imagine I have a movie clip nested as so... dave.drinking.message..... If I am within the m.c. 'message' and want to find something from drinking, I can go..... _root.dave.drinking However I don't want to tie myself to using _root, incase at some point my nesting changes and therfore will ruin my code. Therefore in the same way that you would go up a level '../' for diectories, is there a way of just going up one level from a nested movie clip? I thought _level0. etc might work, but this seems to act in the same way as root. I just want to be ablle to go back a directory as it were. I apologies if you can't understand what I have written. Thanks to any responders.

Anybody with any experience on using swfObject for Flash detection? Or should I stick to using the Flash Detection Kit?
